Today's shave was with two of @Jayaruh 's razors, I just honed and tested. Both equally sharp, and both provided a very smooth 2 pass shave, with near BBS results. The smaller Torrey was a silent whisker whacker, and the Henckels was noisy as ever. I really enjoyed the Torrey the most, even if the other was larger, Full Hollow grind.

A little “Spanish Inquisition” with the whiskers this evening with the Filly.

 

5/8 1/4 Hollow Maher and Grosh Toledo Ohio Made with Radium Extra Hard Steel Had a great shave with this razor .Mowed down two days of growth with almost no effort .Not sure about the Radium .Did not feel like breaking out my Geiger Counter. The steel was very hard .Took me a while to set the Bevel on my 1K .Finished the edge on a Charnley Forest .

Tonight's shave was with a freshly restored and honed blade. I had a smooth 2 pass shave, with near BBS results. No issues, just all over smoothness.

Had a fantastic shave with this straight.BBS in no time I think this razor might be one of my sharpest Japanese straights.Love the feel,balance and weight of this blade.

I own its twin .Great shaver.Love its balance and ability to hold a wonderful keen edge .

 

Very cool. I have a feeling that Ralf Aust is a good value for those new guys looking for quality yet affordable German steel. The edge was professionnally done by Glen @gssixgun, and is still doing fine. I don't hone at all, I do use a latigo/poly strop, and I have the four sided (2 pasted balsa/two leather) for a little refreshing. It's been a very good razor.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Musgo Real Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the TOST LE Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem 1911 Lather Catcher Razor using an Original Gem Cutlery SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
