Sounds like a great shave. What do you think of the Copper Hat? It is from here in BC I believe, but I have never tried it.

Great pic Dan. My wife thought I needed more soap and brought home some VDH Deluxe today. :happy097: At least she is supporting my hobby/obsession. :)

I love it so far . Lathered nice , smelled nice and left my face soft . The service from Kate was second to none . She went out of her way to help me get an order sent to a friend in the states .i will be ordering there again .

It has been a busy week, not much time for posting or taking pics so I will just start my catch up from Saturday's shave.

Saturday I went with a Dovo Master's, like my other Dovo this razor is a breeze to maintain and pleasure to shave with. This is a loud razor so I turn everything off so I can hear the sound of velcro being pulled apart.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+

    Razor: Dovo Masters
    Strop: SRD
    Brush: Simpson T3
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Castle Forbes
    AS: Speick AS, L’Occitane ASB
Scent: The Different Company Rose Poivrée

Sunday I decided to go large, aircraft brush and my big, smiling M. Martinez blade. Everything clicked and it was an epic shave. I am very impressed how long this blade is holding it's edge.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+

    Razor: M. Martinez 8/8
    Strop: Mastro Livi
    Brush: Kent BK12
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Castle Forbes
AS: Enhanced Alt Insbruck, Speick ASB
    Scent: Guerlain Habit Rouge

I felt like crap most of this week - some kind of stomach upset. So aside from doing anything that absolutely required attention, I've just sulked in my tent all week. My last shave was on Tuesday and my last visit to TSD was then too. I was feeling better today and cleaned up, including shaving off the scruff. So I came here to catch up and then post the shave and find I'm over 400 posts behind. I guess instead I will post the shave and then see how much of the backlog I can read through.

Saturday February 24 - TSD faves

Supply Co V.2 Single Edge injector on two - dot plate / Personna ( 2 )
    Simpsons CH2 Synthetic brush
    TSD Sandalwood lanolin soap
Alum and TSD Milk Aftershave Sandalwood

    IMG_00000164.jpg

I mowed a 4 1/2 day stubble tonight. For a change, I used the Soap Destroyer instead of the Kent BK12 to whip up a super goop lather from the TSD Sandalwood. I then face lathered rather than using a bowl. Good strong woody scent from this soap and later the splash. My usual two passes with the injector - the first WTG on the face and ATG on the neck, and the second XTG everywhere - wiped away the stubble like so much dirt.

I was left looking cleanshaven with about a CCS. The same two passes for a couple more days will have me back to DFS nearing BBS without any irritation.

    February 24 - A week with Tabac - Day 4

    Razor - Gem MMOC
Blade - [IMG] ASR Carbon - CVS (5)
    Soap - Tabac
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Day four with Tabac, final day 5 on the blade. After an incredibly surprising Saturday of mega-sales, I'm a bit tired and tense. The Tabac and JR46 took care of the tension. I managed to get into zen mode and produced a fantastic lather that set up three slow passes of shaving relaxation and effectiveness. The blade remains smooth though it is showing signs of age. Still produced a near-BBS result with no issues and quiet alum. Three passes of zen shaving with the OCMM that proved again how good a razor it is.

Hope you had a great Saturday as well but perhaps a bit more relaxing than mine!

After yet another round of network cabling, this time fixing the mess of 30 years of random telephone and data wiring, plus what the VOIP company did to the wires, I felt really grubby. So, another midnight shower, and a shave.

    Aristocrat
    Astra SP (4th shave)
    Williams
    VDH Boar brush
no after shave, PSO, or anything else other than water and soap. (Okay, my PSO was 'Irish Spring')
Took some more time with the shave, but the blade is definitely going south. I should have changed it before this shave. Clean shave, but mildly abrasive. Williams did a decent job again, but I think I prefer Arko, overall. I'll keep working the puck till it dies.

    Perfect shave!
If La Toja isn't one if your faves...maybe it should be. I spent a good deal of 2015 using this soap, and today I remembered why. It's awesome. That's why. Someone, somewhere wrote about dollar store after shave, so I found mine. It's powdery barbershop, decent stuff. Other than that...all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a super Sunday!

Yet another busy day. I'm just getting around to catching up on the thread. I appreciate all of the concern about my wife. She is doing match better today, sore yet ambulatory. She is going to be fine.
