Where did you get this Crown King set from? Evil Dead is one of my faves after all these years and the show has been great! I didn't miss the Clubman aftershave moments in a few of the episodes. I think Pinaud was shown in 2 different episodes briefly (one episode for sure, but I seem to remember one of the early season-1 episodes flashed a bottle).

Was that a limited edition run? This would be a great one to own.

This fragrance is pretty much a floral/aquatic scent that really doesn't carry much of any sweetness and is a bit dry, but still good. It centers on the Immortelle Flower with an aquatic marine vibe, but doesn't have much of any salty scent like many aquatics do. If anyone knows of a (preferably vegan) shave soap with Immortelle flower as a main note in the scent, let me know. I could pair it with this fragrance. For now, since I have no soap that can pair with this, I'm going 'unscented' with the Shave Den soap.

 

That is a very interesting-looking blade.

February 25 - A week with Tabac - Day 5

Fifth day on Tabac and it's been a good five days. New blade in the OCMM tonight and the Stirling Synthetic for the win on the lather. I decided going in that I didn't care about the result as much as getting it done. I'm tired after another super busy day and I just need it to be good enough to make it through tomorrow. Well, with this razor, a brand new carbon blade and the slick and cushy Tabac - two passes and some minor touch up got me a very nice DFS. That'll do, pig, that'll do.

Back in August, Douglas Smythe (PAA proprietor) was to meet Bruce Campbell at a convention of sorts. (Douglas posted a video of part of it). Douglas gave Bruce a goodie bag filled with wet shaving stuff including this custom-labeled soap and splash. The fragrance is PAA's "Club Guy" which you know is their nod to Pinaud Clubman. However, this is the high-butter Crown King base with activated charcoal to give it that "ashy" look. He made 3 sets. One was given to Mr. Campbell, one he gave away at a NYC meet-up, and one was given to me. Douglas knows I'm a huge fan of the Evil Dead franchise, so he gave me this as a thank you for a favor I did for him. So, at the moment, there are no more of these. Douglas doesn't even have one. Due to licensing restrictions, he could never sell it with the current artwork, so I don't expect to see more of these. Douglas has caught a lot of flack for past missteps, many of which are simply untrue, but others warranted. However, in my eyes he redeemed himself long ago and has been a positive force for the community. Beyond the caricature of the "Hodges" persona, he is a kind-hearted man whom I consider a friend.

So, to answer your question more succinctly, this was never a release and could probably be considered unobtanium in it's current packaging.

I think it'll take all day for my face to thaw out after this great three pass BBS shave from the Glacial Eskimo Tuxedo soap. It lathered so rich, slick, and protective, its lovely Sharp Dressed Man scent perfumed the bathroom, and the menthol effect was immense/intense. The Glacial Unscented balm felt so wonderful with its own frigid skincare. I can't begin to explain how bitterly-cold and nice the Arctique felt! (a great scent too!)

It seems I posted somewhere else this AM. Not sure where though. I'm kind of a Luddite when it comes to tech stuff. Pretty sure I listed my razor as my Fatip when it really is my slant. Oh well.
Ahem. I found and deleted it. I posted in the Menthol Monday thread. Duh!

Anyway......stayed with yesterday's set-up as it delivered such a nice shave.
