No, I just checked it was 2016. The story as I was told is that Paul’s Pipe Shop in Flint, Mi bought all of the T Cristiano pipes and even tooling when he passed. He didn’t buy any of his filtered pipes. The guy I bought mine from is who ended up with what Paul’s Shop didn’t buy. I ended up buying 3 different shapes from him. Sold one and kept 2, including the one similar to yours.

Wow, that's depressing. I hadn't heard any of this. Hopefully they can pull things together. Thanks for the info.

Nice pipe. The guy who owned the pipe shop I hung out at smoked only Canadians -- he had dozens. I have one, a Costello Sea Rock I've had for 25 years and it's among my best smokers. BTW, nice shave, too!

No pulling things together. The owners are retiring and not selling the blends or the company. They have processed all the tobacco they had and it’s making its way to stores and once what’s sold it’s gone. It’s sad, I regret not buying the 5 lbs of 5100 I had in my cart forever before that disappeared, fortunately I have a good supply of Christmas Cheer from 2014-2017 and 40th anniversary as well as other blends cellared. Also in case no one is aware the same is true with Dunhill Blends. They too are going away and have manufactured all the tobacco they had as well. So if there is something you want from either and find it, buy it. I’m also cellared deep in many Dunhill Blends but that announcement was over a year ago and they are still selling through it however the price for Dunhill has started to increase lately so supply is tightening.

A few years ago I saw a picture on the internet of someone’s pipe collection of just Canadians, and there were literally dozens of them. Just wondering if that could be the same person? What are the odds that two different people would have such a large collection of just Canadians?

PS Bullseye in a Neerup poker. Folded and gently stuffed to allow an air pocket.

I liked your post, but I really hate to hear that. Man, I wish I had stocked up like I had planned. They had a number of really nice blends; it’s a shame they won’t sell the company or blends. After trying many different blends through the years, I had really settled on McClelland.

I agree, some great baccy and although I have 2 lbs of 5100 cellared I wish I had more. McC is 20% of my cellar and based on current usage should last me until I’m 70 so I don’t foresee running out with additional sales and such on other blends to keep me well stocked and if things change and have to give up the pipe in the future (or my kids when I’m in the dirt) shouldn’t have an issue selling it for some $.

If you don't mind, I'd like to ask a couple of questions. How many times a day do you use a pipe, bowls per day? Also, if you use or had to use a filter, would you pick the regular paper ones, balsa or charcoal?

Two bowls per day per pipe is my max. Rest six days if possible.

    Paper, then balsa

You're looking at like 140 years of pipe collection on this thread, just FYI.

Their pipe tobacco may be a thing of the past. This has been cellared. DE pipe tobacco is disappearing, said to be discontinued.

And nope... Not even gonna light it. Forgot about these tins. It's an aromatic ready rub. Immediately jarred it. I can tell by the tin notes it's not for me.
