So I mentioned coming across this in another thread about the Yaqi Razor on Ali Express. Figured I'd start a new thread so as to not interfere with that one...

Anyway I figured I'd get the cheapo handle that was available in the listing here:
    https://www.aliexpress.com/item/VIG...32838467143.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.P3nzC4

As the pictures seemed like quality wasn't that great I did not have high expectations to start with. But it just arrived the other day; the fit/finish is not horrible and much better than I expected. For some reason I was thinking the handle would be smaller as well. But the handle is pretty long and wider than expected.

Here are some initial photos for comparison.

Oh yeah and it did come with a 10 pack of the Dorco Blades. Total cost with shipping on the VIG Shaving razor was $11.90, so not to bad.

Also to note; I ordered the Yaqi on the same day as this one. The VIG Shaving razor shipped a few days before the Yaqi. The Yaqi tracking shows that it's in the postal system, but not yet left China.

You should not have different expectations than you would ordering from Italian Barber, Maggard, etc. as they are all sourcing from the same OEMs in India, China, and Taiwan. They seem to avoid Pakistani manufacturers whose products you'll find carried by other vendors on Amazon and eBay.

One thing I've noticed about tracking from China, it will not update until the package is actually in the US.

I got 11 updates on the progress of my Yaqi head over six days within China, then six days dark in transit before arrival in the US.

The Yaqi has updates just within moving within China... I still don't expect it showing up for at least another week or two.

Today will be day 14, but it was not marked shipped until the 28th. So I'm not really expecting it until maybe the 13-14th.

True, but once it hits the US, you should be able to use the same tracking number on USPS.com .

Two shaves down with the VIG. Both done in the beginning of each week to remove the weekend growth. Initial thoughts are that it's about as aggressive as my Merkur 23C. I only have two other Open Combs to compare it to: the PAA DOC and the GEM Micromatic. I'd say it falls in between the two.

Aaaand still waiting on the Yaqi to get here. IMG_20180311_184548_325.jpg

Thank you, an interesting option with different parties, it does not rust? I have no idea how to produce it for such a price with a bundle of blades in the kit, only if it is stolen somewhere and then sold :)

It's made with a very cheap pot metal and chrome plated in China. Won't rust due to the chrome if anything it would just turn white with corrosion if the chrome wears off.
