    Shave 5 of 30

Tonight's shave went fairly well. Was just going for the clean shave look, not chasing no baby. A few nicks, but in the usual spots I expect them. Upper lip, jaw line, neck. But nothing serious. I did just a single pass shave all over, a bit of a secondary shave on the cheeks and jaw, and neck. The alum was pretty good. It sang in some spots, but not everywhere. And when it did, it wasn't that bad. I pitched the blade, Keith gave me enough for 2 shaves/blade, so I'm going to do that. Not taking any chances at all. I did use the E3 for the lower lip, I had some hairs I needed to whack off but otherwise it was a 96% shavette shave.

Sounds like a really good job on your 5th outing with the shavette!

I skipped shaving today. However, I made preparations to start my evil plan for world domination tomorrow, starting by sweeping @Drygulch's soap finishing competition. How? By finishing off all my samples. I have a box of 16 put together, at least 12 of which are 1 oz minimum, and the last 4 are about 2 oz put together. I am going to spend the rest of March and into April using them until they are all gone. And since the little tubs are too small to brush load from, I scoop out with a sampling spoon, which means I load very heavy... :)

Another smiling razor and Tabac refuses to die. The edge was acceptable but a little rough so I will take this back to the finishing stones and try to improve the edge. I still got a good shave, it is just my OCD kicking in.

Thank you, Rick, it is a great knot. I did the ‘refrigerator’ treatment to it before I pulled it from its original handle. I have used it roughly one day a week since making it. I can’t remember when exactly, but it has been at least half a year.

Great products and great pic, Clint!
Sounds like March with your Pain Stick focus is already a little boring for you, Jim. Another cool effect, though!
Nice to have a back up of an unobtanium scent, Perry. I thought I was doing the same thing with a First Canadian soap until, lo and behold, they resurfaced under different ownership and location. Same scents, though.
    Safe travels, Brian.
Trying to kill off Tabac? Good luck. It is a well-established theory that only Ants and Tabac can survive a nuclear winter.
    Great set up, Keith.

My avatar is a fanboy indicator, but one must admit it was a show way ahead of its time. Victim of the ratings game.
I'm pretty sure you couldn't be making any inference that there is some similarity between blipverts/studio23 and CT management!

Second night with the Aristocrat, Stirling Iced Coffee and JR54. Still suffering with the abysmal Sharp Star. I'm surprised that none of you have sent me any yet. I'm trying so hard to save you the misery.

This setup is an almost guaranteed BBS in 3 passes. Smooth, delightful scent with a cold menthol kick and the after feel and persistent scent is delightful.

I'm trying my best to keep up as we go this month. With so much going on here I know I'll fall behind as the move approaches. I'm seeing some great shave the shaves happening and a lot of other good ones as well. People learning and perfecting technique. Gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. No, Fuzzy, not you.

Ahh, CT's are a Thing all their own. There are a few TSD members that just might whisper in The Queens ear. Mounting a campaign to get someone CT'd does not guarantee success. She has a mind of her own and does as she pleases. Then the recipient gets some Royal shoe leather, and maybe the campaigners as well.

I say we just string @BaylorGator along. Promise him a fruitcake and come up with excuses later. He's got more ice cream than Howard Johnson's. What else does a man really need to be happy?

I used the same setup as yesterday and had another good shave with the Parker SRX loaded with a Feather blade on day 2. The blade edge felt a bit smoother today. My skin shows minor irritation if I shave daily using the shavette. I do better when I take a rest day in between. (Yep, that shouldn't happen. I still need to work on my technique.) That being said, Wednesday (hey, that's today) is a no-shave day.

I'm enjoying all the great shave reports and beautiful photos this month. Have a great Wednesday!

History recycles themes. The dates and details vary.

"There is a museum in Paris, commemorating the privations of the city's prolonged siege by the Prussians in 1870, which preserves, as good as new after 141 years, samples of the sorts of bread that were being baked in Paris at the height of the siege. Some of these might have been hopelessly contaminated by having flour in them, but wood shavings, sawdust and the occasional bit of gravel, brick-dust and pulverised stone feature heavily. These examples of extreme bakery are kept under glass in controlled conditions, but are as good as the day they were first forged."

I read it on the internet, it must be true.

    Shave #6

    Slim 7
    Rapira SS
    Yaqi Slivertip
    Tabac
    Aqua Velva Ice Blue
    Nivea Sensitive Cooling AS Balm

Shave number six in the books. Cranked the slim up to seven and went to town. Very early I realized I probably broke my lather. It was thin watery, with now residual slickness, to speak of. The alum sung under my chin, but nothing the Aqua Velva couldn't handle. Really liking the slim on higher setting, really getting pretty good at no pressure. Try to go easy on my bottom neck like, but still looked pretty Red and bumpy, so I put so my daughters old diaper rash cream on it. I will be interested to see if it has any positive effect in the morning. All in all a DDF shave, considering my lather was pretty terrible. I feel like I've come along way, not long ago like that would have had me seeing Red, with a great deal of irritation. I also forgot to mention I used warm water, instead of my usual cold water tonight, not sure what if, any positive or negative effect it had on the shave. Thanks again guys for all your helpful advice and antidotes, they really help. Tomorrow will be Shave seven and the first week of the rule will be complete.
