Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick M adjustable injector
Brush: Ever Ready 100T restored badger
    Lather: Palmolive shave stick
Post: Witch hazel, RazoRock Blue Barbershop aftershave

Little bit of a rough go this morning. A couple of weepers on the upper lip and corner of my mouth. Oh well, it goes that way sometimes! I probably should get a styptic pen as I am using bits of tissue to stop the bleeding at the moment.

Anyway, I'm smelling good from the RazoRock Blue Barbershop and had great lather from the Palmolive. All will be well in the end. A couple of weepers won't ruin my day!

    Enjoy your day, everyone!

Day 6 with the SC, 3rd with a Sharp Star. This local soap really doesn’t produce a bad lather. Bowl-lathered this morning and had 3 full passes. Decent shave. Went back to the Alum this morning to try to stay on focus with it, but I do prefer to follow it with witch hazel. I’ll switch out blades tomorrow to keep the SC focus going.
I’m not sure the Unconditional Surrender matches the Creamy Coconut, but who cares, it is awesome.
    Have a great day all!

Great photo Jason. I felt the same way about my aftershave pairing this morning. I was not sure they really went together but I enjoyed the result.

Thanks, Clint! The Concert Band (second group, mainly freshmen and sophomores) earned an Excellent rating on stage and a Superior in sight reading. The Wind Ensemble (top group) earned all Superior ratings. Superior is the highest category. I was proud of both groups! I'm going back today just as a spectator to see and hear more groups. It's a huge learning experience to see how other directors work their groups.

Not the best shave today technique-wise....I think I wet the Pure Badger a little too much before plunging it into the Chiseled Face Ghost Town Barber. This made my 2nd pass stronger than the first. I'm sure when we all do a 2nd pass, we say "Just to be sure...". Today with mine, I said "This HAS to be better". I seem to have begtter results with my other 4 brushes(2 Stoylins, a Jayaruh, and the Spindle Duro Tali from Crown King). I'll give the Badger one more try, and if it's the same result, I'll have a decision to make.

A beautiful pair of photos, Jason!
    Great shot Neal!
Im going to enjoy seeing the Dry Dock in action so much this month!
    Another fantastic photo, Clint!
    Cool shot, Jim!
Nice shot Perry! Sorry to hear that you had a bit of a rough shave, if you have an alum bar it will usually take care of the weepers and nicks before you need to pull out the styptic pencil.

Hmm... red and bumpy isn't good. Especially based on your posts yesterday where you are not going truly ATG on your neck. If you've had no reaction to Tabac on any of the other days and have said you feel you are basically using no pressure, I'd look at either changing out the blade or dialing back the Slim a bit. It needs to be enjoyable!
The zinc oxide in the diaper rash cream will help with the irritation, but not why it is getting so irritated in the first place.
Great write up, John. I had to do a double-take at first, as I thought I'd posted another pic by mistake...our cypress brushes look very similar, especially resting in one of those bowls.
Another beaut, Clint. I sound like a broken record, but every day is a professional calendar shot. Hope the commute (and pollen!) wasn't too bad today.
Really like the look of that Hawk you keep showing, Jim. Modern SEs are a bridge I haven't crossed yet, and my NB has stopped me from even thinking about it (so I guess it is working...).
Sounds like a bit of a rough one. I keep a Styptic for the 5-6 times a year I seem to useit. When you need it, you need it. Great looking set up though, Perry.

Couldn't agree more, Clint. Especially since, IMHO, it is the AS only you get a scent from as the morning goes on.

    The Bunny V3 (Nosto plate)
    Personna (6)
    Stirling Baker Street
    Yaqi Professional (28mm, Destroyer class)

First shave with The Bunny, decided to go with the NOSTO plate because I usually like a little more blade feel. Riding on a bed of Stirling super goop the Bunny was smooth as silk! Absolutely marvelous, the angle practically set itself, whiskers were wiped away and there was no sense of harshness. This razor could easily take the #1 injector spot. Its going to be a real pleasure using the Bunny for the next couple of shaves before I have to pass it on. Have a great day my friends!
