SOTD March 8, 2018 Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap Blade: Personna Razor: Personna injector Brush: JR #41 badger Lather: Mystic Water Irish Traveler Post: Witch hazel, Stirling Sharp Dressed Man aftershave Nice shave this morning after a few weepers yesterday. None today with comfortable results all around. First use that I can recall of a Mystic Water soap. Pretty good stuff! I believe this is a take on Creed Green Irish Tweed, as is Stirling Sharp Dressed Man, which explains the aftershave choice. All around nice shave. Enjoy your day!
Thank you. When I started DE shaving Fine Italian Citrus was not available. Everyone talked about how good it was and wanted it to come back. So I jumped at the chance to get the soap and aftershave when it became available. I will buy the aftershave again but I’ll skip the soap. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wow that is another great looking brush. You just keep them coming one after another. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jim, nice set up today. I like the looks of your shavette, and it appears you have mastered it. Good luck at the doc today.
Tahnks Clint! Brushes are like works of art! #brushart The Blue Sapphire, although slightly delayed, is on the way.

Thursday March 8 - 30DC inspired shave Delta Echo refurbished Gillette Fatboy on 4 / Lord Super Stainless (1) Semogue Owners Club cherrywood Tuxedo brush (APShaveCo knot set by Jason @jtspartan) The Dry Dock shave bowl (also by Jason) Cyril R. Salter's Indian Sandalwood shaving cream (sample) Alum and TSD Milk Aftershave Sandalwood Today's shave brought to me by @clint64 (I think), @NCoxSTL and @jtspartan. Why? Well, IIRC it was Clint's comments about how well the cerakote finish on one of his firearms had stood up that finally convinced me to send my Gillettes off to Delta Echo for the gun coating treatment. Neal donated a flat of Voskhods to the TSD Raffle, and when I won them, he arranged to have the Russian seller ship some directly to me, and the vendor threw in a couple sample tucks of Lord Super Stainless and Super Chrome blades. Also, Neal had done shave reports on them and said they weren't dreadful. Finally, Jason made my shaving bowl and also fixed my Semogue boar brush for me so that it now works the way I want it to. The brush is great. It now whips up lather, holds lather, and has plenty of backbone when face painting. And it hasn't shed a single bristle. For my preferences, it's a 100% improvement on the original Semogue boar knot. The shave ... well, I am not going to be dashing out to order a 100-pack of Lord Super Stainless blades anytime soon. The blade was very sharp but definitely not smooth compared to ones such as Voskhods, GSBs, Personna lab blues, etc. Still, two passes got me to a DFS without any nicks or irritation and without any complaints from the alum, so I can definitely shave with it if I have to. With a healthy splash of TSD milk aftershave, I am smooth, clean and ready to face the day.
