Dr. Jon's Day (for real this time )
Superb shave today - very close and comfortable. The lather was not as billowing, as some, but every bit as effective in setting up my stubble for their fate before the Rockwell. I think the R5 plate is the one I will use from now on with Feathers. Defiance aftershave has a nice dose of menthol - not s face freezer, just a welcome wake me up.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Mitchell's Wool Fat Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 two-band badger brush. I did two passes with the Gem Damaskeene Razor using a Personna Gem CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Pinaud Clubman AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

My dear friends,

Thank God a million times the surgery went very well but I'm in some pain. The doctor gave me some good medication for it which I have to take whenever it starts flaring up and I have to take it easy for about a week.

I still managed to get in a very good shave just before!

This Goodfella really is a "good fellow" because even though it's such a mild DE if you figure out how to use it like I did you can still get a great BBS shave. However in order to do that, you need at least three passes. I did my first one WTG, the second one ATG, and the third one XTG followed by a little touch-up everywhere. It felt so good to lather up with the G&TOTR soap and to enjoy that lovely, refreshing lemon/lime scent as well as that awesome menthol effect. The Lucky Tiger aftershave cream felt so cooling and soothing - not to mention how moisturizing it was. My wonderful wife gave me some coffee and then I'll go lie down a little later if our monster of a German Shepherd would be so kind as to get himself off the bed! lollllllllll(I love him so much!)

Delightful two pass, minor touch-up, BBS shave this morning. The Speick cream never disappoints. Great post shave feel enhanced by a healthy splash of Brandy Spice AS.

Stirling Gentleman today. 20 seconds to load the Whipped Dog Silvertip brush. Easy, thick, slick, lather. Vintage Gillette “Spoiler” SS still in the Black Beauty. Excellent smooth, close, shave. I finished with Stirling Gentleman aftershave.
