  2. And for me, there WAS next time! I did much better today. Technique? I was vigilant, that's for sure. Brush? I had a Jayaruh, we all know he makes great ones. Both? Perhaps.

Day 7 with the SC, first with a Wizamet. In spite of what are possibly the worst graphics on any soap, the Mastro Miche produces a nice-scented, good lather. TFS has a few different bases, but really doesn’t advertise them as such. This lanolin formula is, IMHO, miles ahead of their vegan base.
Had a really nice 3 pass shave this morning, and the Wizamet felt very smooth. 7 shaves into this focus and I’ve enjoyed this razor. I do not, a this point, feel that it is more efficient than the LC.
    Have a great day all!

  4. I must be careful posting anything the least bit controversial when Charlie from Kentucky is around. No doubt the man will eat it up. Get it? Fruitcakes? Oh c'mon. :)

  5. How's the new Wolfman treating you this month?

The Delta Echo Fatboy looks fantastic John. Also you did a wonderful job replacing the knot in the Semogue handle.

  6. There's a little cafe here that serves an awesome Elvis sandwich, complete with zero mayo.

  7. It is a wonderful job on that knot, isn’t it? I am so glad I contracted it out to someone who knew what he was doing. Jason wound up boring out the entire metal ring to get enough room for the knot to fit.
  8. Wonderful photo Jason. Love the B&W photo.

  9. I am sorry that I missed that Jason actually installed the knot. @jtspartan did a wonderful job with the knot replacement and you ended up with a gorgeous brush.

  11. Thank you sir. It doesn't get the love it deserves but it is an outstanding razor. I could easily run it exclusively. But what do they say about variety?

  12. I love the Wolfman. It's a great ride. Super smooth...and efficient. I can't wait to try the SB .80 that's on order to see the difference. I got the same WRH3 handle as it's my favorite. James was also kind enough to let me order a Darwin handle after the fact.

With that said, the Timeless 95 is right there with it in performance for half the price...and they are always in stock. Can't go wrong there IMO. That OC with the rounded teeth has the feel of a SB. Timeless guys are on point.

  13. I have been looking at the SS Timeless razors, they are beauties! A lot of positive reviews. I'm going to work on my technique for awhile before I decide on blade gap and teeth or no teeth.

  15. Beautiful razor, James!
  16. Love the brush, bowl, and razor combo, John! I have a "spare" Fatboy that I sometimes think about sending to Delta Echo. Problem is that is in mint condition, my birth year, and is complete with case. Probably won't send it off for those reasons. Have a great day, my friend.

  17. Jason, I have enjoyed following your exploits with the SC. Yours is a beauty and pairs well with the 30 DC LE brush. My SC and LC are my two favorite DE's, so I can appreciate how much you like them. Enjoy your day and hopefully no rushing off to a meeting this morning. :)

  19. Not a poor decision at all! That's why it is a rule- take the month to get it dialed in.
Do you realize which forum you are on? ;)
Yup. Great advice. Even expensive soaps are dirt cheap on a per use cost (especially if triple milled). Load the crap out of them and eliminate 'not enough product' as a variable. Having some left over on the brush or in the bowl isn't a bad thing.
Did you have to drive all the way to find out it was cancelled?

More good advice from John. I'd echo it- Back that Slim off until you are getting irritation free shaves and then dial it up for efficiency, if you wish.
Just helping out a friend. I'd rather make them than fix them...
  20. That there looks like a magazine photo. Extra slice of fruitcake coming your way! ;)
