It's supposed to be a Cautionary Tale, not an instruction manual for the future. Defiantly rewatchable. Don't think it could be edited for broadcast TV.

Thank you Jason. Took my smarty pants pills today.

Are you on a NoBuy? The Rule / Focus only restricts what you use to shave. You are free to fill a bucket with future shave gear. Nice Old Spice Hull Pottery ceramic mug!

No, my little "research" fiasco happened last October or November and was one of the reasons I decided to go on NB'18. So far, my No Buy is still in effect...

Not No Buy, but the wife told me not buy anymore stuff, but I couldn't pass it up. The New and 40s super speed where in my wishlist, and the mug was the original old spice mug so I had to buy it.

This what they look like cleaned up. The SS has sticky door, but still looks like it will work fine. So excited for April, when I take my new toys for a spin, with all my shaving skills .

    March 9

On what should be the final day of searching for a new home I'm happy to say we appear to be set. We viewed two more today and applied, since both had no application fee. We also viewed one and thanked them for their time as it was way over priced. Our original approval is now a finalized deal minus the lease signing. They were able to accommodate a ground floor entrance to make my wife and her bad knees happy.

To celebrate a successful and quick search I went back to the Fatip and Feather. The Wolf and El Caballero for a high class lather and a BBS for the result.

My weekend is now in the books. Back for a six day run at work tomorrow. Hope your weekend is less stressful, but as productive as mine was!

Have about 20 pages to catch up on. Again. Got sick for a few days this week, so had four days with if whiskersnto shave with the beast this morning. My pre shave prep included muting the front tip of the razor like a straight, except using the side of the stone counter instead of a hone, and remembering some basics. I made a wet lather, and focused on just using enough pressure to remove the lather from my face. I had the angle almost as flat as the shavette would allow. I also got up early enough so the kids were asleep. Did my first two passes, and rinsed my face. I was at a DFS, with no blood and no irritaion. After the bloody dumpster fire that was my last shave, I called it good and skipped the third pass. Alum was pretty quiet, and very little irritation. That’s a step in the right direction.

An Old Type and a sweet 1940s SS. Great finds. Both are excellent razors. I love my OT and a Super Speed is hard to beat.

Hey guys, I've been feeling pretty crappy yesterday and today. It must be my turn to suffer through a virus. I've been trying to keep up with the postings here throughout the day but when you get on a roll this thread just grows and grows and grows. I took a nap instead.

Today was my shave day anyway and I took a shower to feel more human and I wasn't about to NOT shave, so I did. The head shave was great! It was very smooth, and went as planned. The face shave turned out bloody. On my first stroke on my first pass on my right temple my angle was off and I cut into my skin. I caught it right away and it was a very minor nick. There was a little bit of blood but not much. I continued with the shave.... I was stretching the skin, and it seemed to be going extremely well as I finished up the right cheek, the right side of the neck, the left cheek and the left neck. I was working on my left jaw and I did it again. My angle was off, but I didn't catch it in time or something. I cut myself pretty good, and about 1/2 inch in length. Ouch! I was cursing my lack of focus and then noticed a bloody spot on my right jaw! I didn't notice that one before nor do I know what I did there... but it was bleeding pretty good too. After treating with alcohol (the non-drinking variety) and then a styptic pencil I finally got the blood to stop flowing. Other than the injuries the result of the face shave was quite smooth.

At the risk of being counter-revolutionary, my Bride did a lot of baking today. She was making some items for a ladies' get-together in a couple of days. The boys and I also reap some benefits from this activity. Fortunately, this virus I have does not affect my stomach so my appetite is good.

    Chocolate chip cookies:

And those cookies are the rejects! Those are the ones I get to eat. Notice the two items in the upper right of the above picture? Here's a close up:
    IMG_2448.JPG

She called these something like "Strawberry puree open cup cookies" or some such thing. Creamy part is pureed strawberries, cream cheese and I have no idea what else. It's extremely good. But she gave me the rejects and I was happy with those.

The boys went back to college and they each got one of these:

Neal @NCoxSTL, I merely share these baked goods with the 30DC for the good of the Revolution, not to be subversive!

Happy shaves everyone and have a great weekend!

Thanks, the Old Type was on my wish list too. It has G date code, which I think makes it a 1936.

    Shave #9 in the books.

    Slim #4
    Rapira Swedish Supersteel 2
    Yaqi Slivertip
    Proraso Red Preshave
    Tabac
    Speick AS
    Proraso Blue AS Balm

A DFS, mostly resisted the urge to over shave. Had a few spots which were still razor burnt from over shaving last night, so really tried to take it easy in those spots. Lather is getting much better, thanks to help from FaceScaper his advice, has been a revelation. Got a few more weepers than I have lately, but beyond that a pretty good shave with the slim, in fact one the best I've had with the the slim. Still need to continue to work on angle and pressure, alum still sung on my trouble spots but not as bad as it has. I did notice tonight, the redness looked pretty minor directly after the shave, however upon application of the alum the neck turned instantly red. Uncertain if the two are related or if it was a coincidence. I think I may skip the alum for a few days and just use Clubman, to indicate the quality of the shave and see how the neck redness reacts. Tomorrow 30 percent of my rule be over.
