Another great photo Jim. I just can’t get over how good that brush looks.

Amazing brush, Jim. He has a very informative vid on how he makes them as well. His finishing procedures are very intensive- 10 coats of finish plus buffing. Very cool.

    MARCH Citrus Sunday

    Mystic Water Raspberry Lemon
    B-400 Omega 98 boar brush
    Suribachi bowl & cool water
    The Bunny V3.1, Chick blade
Bound & Shagged PSS, Lime Sec
SOTD 03112018.png Citrus Sundays are a Thing! The Navel orange tree in my back yard is blooming right now. Stirred up some MW soap with a barely broken in boar. First pass (WTG) on my cheeks felt tuggy, so I paused and injected a fresh blade.Finished that N to S, and went on to S to N, then nose ear to nose. Saw a little spot of blood on my chin where the Blackbird bit me. Otherwise the Bunny behaved giving smooth efficient service. A couple post shave spritzes of Witch hazel, Everclear, Vitamin E, & scent oils mixed up by Tom @twhite soothed my shave space. Finished with a double splash of Jolly Rancheresque Lime for good measure.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

I have seen pics of a lot of hybrid resin handles, but this one is truly awesome. I am guessing with a name like aurora, it has a galactic inspiration, but I see wood in the water. The kind of wood you hunt and peck around looking for that bass, or that crappies like to hide in. I love it.

Great write up Rick. You just reminded the scent of MW Raspberry Lemon was really very good.

I got my MW from the Soap Pass Around. Tried many that I'd not experienced before, but the MW was a stand out. Not cologne, sandalwood, or Barbershop. It smells like a cool summer time beverage. Now that I have used the brand, I'd like to sniff others. It's a full on, no punches pulled scent. And that's just the scent! I like the lather, too.

    Parker SRX shavette
    Astra SP (2)
    Simpson Chubby 2 Super
    MdC
Alum, Thayers, Lavender witch hazel, unrefined shea butter, and Terre d’Hermès Parfum

This is my fourth daily shave in a row with the shavette. I performed one WTG pass and a few touch ups for a close, comfortable shave. I spend about as much time touching up around my mouth and chin as I do on my cheeks and neck. I plan to try this for the next few days to see how my skin reacts.

After a few shaves with the MdC, I prefer it by a small margin over the CF Lavender shaving cream for use with my shavette. While both are protective, the MdC seems to produce a slicker lather for me.

It's been fun riding along with you all this month. Lots of progress being made and help being offered. The setups and photos have been fantastic. For now, I have settled into a place where I have all the hardware and software that I want. This would be a very dangerous place for me if I was considering more gear...but, hey, Danger is my middle name.

I hope you all have a nice week.

Thank you, Jason! I watched the video as well, and it does look time consuming. I have to admit, my patience runs way too thin to ever be too good at things like brush making.

I know exactly what you mean, Jared. The only thing I will add is that in person, the swirls in the resin are much more prevalent and do give impression of the aurora (although I have to admit to never seeing the Aurora Borealis in person). I'll have to see if I can get some better pictures with some back lighting at some point.

Thank you, Jim! Yes, and I'm glad that I landed on a daily routine that seems to agree with my skin.

How do you like using the CJB compared to other shavettes? I've always liked the looks of the knurled grip on that razor and thought it might be easier to use than the Feather AC.

I haven't used a Feather, and to some degree, I would think a CJB and Feather shave very similarly to each other. Personally, I like the longer blades of the Feather AC style razors over the half DE blade style. They are just closer to a straight in the blade length, and so they feel a bit more natural to me. I think I have had a few more scratches from the shorter blades of the DE style than I have the longer AC style.
