    Love that Schick C-3 @Karl G!

    Razor: F Herder 45
Brush: Vie Long Lord Randal Horsehair
    Soap: LASS Black fern
    A/S: Razorock One X
Probably not as good as that Schick, but not bad :).

I'm not feeling well so the planned shave went mentholated while I was in the shower and my brush was soaking. Got a couple bites as I was feeling crappy, but laying down refreshed and waiting on NyQuil to take me away!

Well that's enough of that. Same setup as last night and same disappointing result. The lather was great so thank you Stirling, but the shave was a fail. I can't believe the Fatboy and Bic are giving me fits.

I made sure of no pressure and still got a rough shave including a cut near my right ear on the XTG pass. My notes on the Bic are all positive but this one is eating me alive. The cut, barely DFS result and hot alum all combine for a fail. I suppose I may have a dud on my hands but I'll wait until after the move to sort it out. Back to Russian steel tomorrow.

You gotta hunt for it on Ebay and the quality/condition of the stuff is very hit and miss. You could pay decent money, but get a badly aged bottle. I have gotten lucky on some of my buys. I focused on intact-box sets that were more expensive. That did help increase the odds of getting bottles that were actually stored properly.

    Hi, Bill.
The Muhle Rocca is a bit more aggressive/efficient than the EJ DE89. Not a great deal, but it is perceptible. A few folks have mentioned that it falls in between an EJ DE89 and a Muhle R41, but I don't find it to be so. I find it closer to the former, but with more efficiency. I like the razor, but I wish it were a tad more efficient/aggressive.
Unfortunately, I still find it a tad mild/inefficient compared to my Blackbirds. Even with the elevated aggressiveness of the Rocca, I still have to do more passes and touch-ups than what I would like compared to using my Blackbirds.
    I hope this helps.

    Hot shower
    Cremo Cooling Shave Cream (preshave)
    KMF Cool Mint Shave Cream
    Razorock Plissoft
Heirloom Gillette Milord (NDC), Gillette 7 O'clock Green (2)
    2 passes, touch up
Cold rinse, alum, witch Hazel, Duke Cannon Supply Co. AS Balm, Pinaud Clubman
    Nice shave.

Today was an experiment. My beard is very sparse. Yesterday I drained the sink after each pass to see how much stubble stuck to the bowl. Nothing on the first pass. So, today I dropped the WTG pass, and did XTG and ATG. Result: beard removal was equal, but I experienced more redness in spots.

CHECK OUT MY PIF FOR A STRAIGHTRAZOR SANDING BLOCK!

    Proraso Pre Shave
    Tabac
    Jayaruh #268
    Gem Flying Wing
    Pal CS
    CWR
    Thayer's Lemon WH
    Aqua Velva Musk

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #268 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem Flying Wing Razor using a Pal CS SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
