The way it is for Wednesday:

    prep-Dial 4 Men
    shave-Stirling Barbershop Soap
    brush-Sirling Synthetic 26 mm
    razor-Gillette Sensor Deuce Pivot DisposeABLE
    A.S.-Clubman Original

y'know, I thought shaving was going to be a bit difficult since my apartment fall yesterday(see How's Your Day for the upsetting details), but I was fine this morming. Brush-swirling could be a little painful though....I'll comment in the 30DC if so).

And now, bouncing fresh off my Wednesday Shave Plan, here's my Wednesday Shower Plan, in document form:

As always, I open with an all over wash with Dial 4 Men Bodywash(Odor Armor). Then I bring out the Dial 4 Men Deodorant Soap. And, since I'll be using barbershop products for my shave-, I close with Clubman Country Club Shampoo. Outside the shower, I use Mennen Regular Deodorant, after my shave).

Best shave I've had with a straight razor yet. Just shows how perseverance can work wonders. Added an ATG pass which helps get much better results on neck.

    Today's shave
Hot water wash with a washcloth
    FS silvertip
    Sara's Creations Loud Lavender
    Gillette Bakelite Travel set
    Persona lab (1)
    Fine Lavender classic aftershave
Recent comments led me to try this Gillette from my collection. Cool weather, so no extra menthol. The black Frank shaving silvertip seemed to match the razor selection. Sara's exploded into tons of lather, lavender fille the bathroom. I don't remember the pedigree of this set (I've had it for a few years) and I really don't remember it delivering such a great shave. But it performed very well, light and agile, noisy enough to keep me in the cutting zone nicely.
I was pleasantly surprised. Please comment if you know the whens and wheres of this little set. I'm gonna use it again tomorrow. I finished with Fine Lavender. Quite pleased.
Hope y'all did as well, ir better. 20180313_175048_resized.jpg

Hi Andrew. I have mixed options on it. It has chewed my face up a bit and I can't say I have been completely happy. I only have 4 shaves with it and after the first, my face was tender and a bit red from razor burn. The angle for the open comb side is tough to get just right and I was getting an uneven shave, leading me to over shave some areas. The solid bar side of the head is much better in my opinion. Generally speaking, I fair pretty well trying and using many different razors out of the box, but this guy has been challenging. Probably the most difficult DE I ever used. The second shave I took very easy since my face was still a bit sore. I did not go for the BBS. As such the shave was not great and the rough shadow appeared earlier then usual. The third shave I flipped the head to be what I believe to be the more mild side. I also favored the solid bar and the shave was somewhat improved but when using the OC side, once again the whisker cutting seamed uneven. Today I was a bit in a rush and kept the third shave almost completely to the solid bar side. This was actually the best shave I had with SBS but still not BBS. I did not want to push it because of time and my face was relatively back to normal. Overall I am not impressed but I enjoy the challenge in getting different razors to perform - kind of the warped side of this crazy hobby I guess! On the positive side, I really like the look of the razor and the squared off comb fingers, but unfortunately looks do not shave. I think there is a good BBS shave in there somewhere, but I will need to play more. After this Astra is done, I think I will use a more mild razor to get my face fully back to health! Based on my experience so far, I can't recommend the SBS razor at this time. My findings seem to echo what I read from others. Many seem to have similar experiences, so IMO I think the razor is difficult to use as a daily driver. I do not think it is the blade because to me, Astras are middle of the road and smooth. I never had an issue with them and generally speaking I can pretty much use any of my blades in my razors. Nor am I over sensitive to aggressive razors and never really had an issue using using the likes of my R41. In fact the R41 is one of my favorites that doesn't get used enough because of my RAD. There are too many great razors in my collection that sit idle when using this guy so I think I will put it down soon for a bit. I find sometimes when I come back to a razor after time, something clicks and it is more enjoyable.

    TOBACCO TUESDAY

Prep: Shower with Lisa's Natural Dragons Blood bar soap, Apple Cider face wash, PAA Porthos Shampoo bar. Occamas Crushed Lime pre shave soap.
    Razor: Wilkinson Sword Classic
    Blade: Croma Diamat
    Brush: Razorock BC Plissoft
    Soap: Lisa's Natural Tobacco Bay
Post: Henri Et Victoria- Cognac & Cuban Cigars balm

Smooth shave this morning. Much better than yesterday's shave with the Lisa's premium formula, which may have been user error. Lather was thick and protective. The scent is similar to Jeeves Of Hudson St Velvet Jacket, or Regiment Shaving Reville and is a tobacco almost clean barbershop scent. Paired well with Cognac &Cuban Cigars balm. Hope everyone is doing well and getting great shaves!

Kept the setup but switched blade. The Astra SP got the call and showed off its stuff. Mountain Man soap did the job for the lather and the Astra and Fatboy delivered a blood free and smooth DFS. Very nice.

17 days to the move and packing is progressing. Utility change overs done. Just a few more items to nail down. Already planning on how to best set up cartel HQ when we get there. Life is good.

Nice to see the shavette crew making progress and a lot of great gear out there again this month. March Madness is living up to its name!
