I've got so many samplers and PIF's in my cabinet sometimes it takes awhile to get to some of it. Dom you asked me about the Salters awhile back; I know you're chomping at the bit to hear my opinion, but I just haven't gotten back to it after that first shave. I will try a second shave soon and let you know. Anyways I used a Gillette Platinum blade today from Rolls. Holy hockey pucks! That is a nice, sharp blade. I've been a Red IP man from the beginning, but I may have a new winner. Can't say yet; I need to see how subsequent shaves perform with the same blade. So far I'm impressed. Anybody seen where you can buy these? Does WCS carry them?

I see we're having a T&H vs. TOBS discussion. I tried several samples of T&H, but they just didn't do it for me. I didn't get good shaves; I think it wasn't slick or slippery enough for me. Plus which they're very expensive compared to TOBS and others. I know lots of folks love them, but not for me. <shrug>

 

I think you might be referring to the Gillette Swedes. They are nice and they are expensive. WSC carries them but I think he is out. Try Connaught shaving an English Company. He is cheaper and ships from across the pond. He has excellent customer service.

 

How is my day!?! So far, it frickin' sucks!! I can only get on here momentarily, then blam, the site freezes and I have to go completely out of IE to get back on TSD. I am also supposed to be sending Eric Huntley from B&B a package, but his address is on a PM over there, which I cannot access because of the ban. Shep, the Gillettes are a russian made blade, not the UK version. You can find them on ebay international sellers. They run about $9 shipped for 20 blades. For the $$, I would honestly rather get Astra superiors. Did you guys try out that ASB yet?

Well, I gotta get over Jasons for supper. Can one of you guys PM Eric Huntley and get his address for me so I can get his stuff sent out. I would greatly appreciate it. I will chat with you folks in the a.m.

Today just got a little rough, I've come to the realization that in about a month I will be in Buffalo freezing with no job and a nice big loan. I like my job but right now that is the only thing I like. Last semester when I was going to school full time and working at a crappy grocery store on the weekend I had pretty much no money but things were good. I was about 7 lbs lighter, I was happy, I had a good relationship with my mom, I got all As last semester. I just wish this job came around after I was done with school. I think I'm just scared because this is the first time I've liked my boss. He is a great guy and everybody here likes me (that might be because some of them have known me since I was a baby but whatever). What is really bothering me is I'm not entirely sure I'll be able to get this job back for the summers. I don't know, all this stress is probably not worth anything.

 

Big life changes are hard, stressful, and can cause many a crisis of doubt.
Just make sure you've got everything lined out well. That may very well be the concern your mom has and the tension between ya'll. I'd really work on getting that tension worked out, disagreeing is fine, we've all got to leave the nest sometime and become our own person, but you'll still need that relationship and secure environment at times.
Fear of the unknown is natural, just keep making the right decisions

Thanks guys, I know things will work out with my mom, they did last time I left. I think her problem now is I'm going somewhere she doesn't know anything about. When I was living at Disney she wasn't worried because well.. it's freaking Disney world. I practically spent my entire summers there from the time I was 7 and she knew I knew my way around and exactly where everything around me was. I guess she felt better because she knew that even though she was far away if I needed something she could help me find it. She doesn't like that it is going to be so cold up there and that I could potentially get snowed in there (although I guess I could have gotten stuck in Florida too if the weather got crappy enough). This job, I'm not entirely sure things will work nicely. Thinking about it, this job is the only reason I don't want to leave. It's a good job, but jobs come and go. I have 40 years to work but only a couple more to enjoy college life. It just doesn't make sense to stay here. I also can't go to medical school and stay at this job. We have a local state university with an amazing med school that I intend to go to either way but I don't think there is such thing as night med school. Even if there was such a thing as night med school I wouldn't really want a doctor that did that. So either way I'd be leaving the job now or in a couple of years.
