I've not lathered in it. I think it is too small in diameter for that...with my big ol Stirling brush anyway. I use the bowl to hold the bloom water, which I use to hydrate the soap while face lathering.

I do love the bowl tho. I got the better end of that deal.

Did I mention I do a lot of second hand shopping? That VDH mug has been in my den long enough I've forgotten what I paid for it. Probably much less than retail. Taking your Blackbird for a test ride was well worth the trade, and the Stirling soap samples were icing on the cake!

Set the Fat Boy to #7 and didn't look back. I had a great head shave with it. Don't ask about the face shave.... that one went south on me.

I just got a hair cut - all the remaining hairs that is. Standard Issue Male Pattern Baldness so there isn't much on top or in front of my ears. All the remaining is down to an easily manageable 1/2 inch long. I've never gone full shaved. Yet. Good to know a Fat Boy serves for the purpose!

Like you I have little hair left on top. The sides and back I could let grow out but I choose to shave it once, twice, three times a week... whatever suits my fancy. The Fat Boy does a fine job.

In fact, it was the head shaves which got me into this hobby. I used to use the Carts but they always got plugged up and I figured an "old-fashioned DE razor" would do a better job. They do.

Goood morning!! Yea whatever. Dayshift today. This was my Friday night...Saturday morning shave. Great shave. The ToBS has dried into more of a soap. Still loads easy smells great and is a super lather. 4 day old Dollar Sto' Dorco going strong. Took care of a day and half growth with no effort.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #268 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gillette 195 Fatboy Razor on 7 using an Astra SP blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I see the problem now. I got an excellent shave today. I will still shave with my straight tomorrow, but it will not be a challenge for it.

Acknowledged, accepted, moved on. It's in my genetic line from mom's side. Her father, one of her brothers and his son (my 1st cousin) have inherited that gene. I'm hoping my three sons get theirs from their maternal grandfather.
If I let mine grow out it would do this, but in varying shade of gray.
