    wchnu Duck Season!

Sound slike someone needs a new puter. Or maybe a clean up. Could spyware of some kind be slowing down your computer. Just a thought. Anyone else like spybot search and destroy for that??

Jim. They asked about me. Humm that makes me feel special. There are a lot of good folks there. Tell all hello when you get the chance please.

For me it is just TSD. I can surf the entire webernet pain-free until I come here, then I have to switch browsers. WTF and stuff!?!?

Don't they use the same basic software here for the forums? I have problems with IE but we also have firefox on this computer so I use that. it even has a built in spell checker woohoo..

hmmmmm...that makes it sound like the site, but let's try a couple of things...(by the way, curse you for making me open IE!!!!!! :D)

let's clear out the temporary internet files...if you're okay re-entering logins and passwords (that is, if you let IE remember them) you may try clearing cookies and history as well....actually, forgot to ask, what version of IE are you using, 6 or 7?
either way, click Tools -> Internet Options, if v.7, main tab will open up with Browsing History right in the middle, with a button to Delete, click it and in the next box delete Temporary Internet Files (Cookies and History if you feel like it).

I'm not thoroughly optimistic those will help, but you never know, stranger things I've encountered...
Next, with the Internet Options tab box still open, click the Advanced tab on the far right, and about 2/3 down, there will be (again, v.7) a Restore advanced settings button, click it and Apply, then OK, and see if that helps.

Again, it's a bit of a long shot, since only this site is having the issue, but there may be issues in your cookies or browser settings that only affect TSD (to your knowledge)
None of these are major system changes, your tech guy shouldn't bother you, if he does, send him my way...

Hey Jen, you ever looked into BeautiControl? My wife has done it in the past, they have some pretty good men's products, warming shave gel, and the aftershave balm is pretty good, before I started OCM I used their facial scrub.

also, any luck with the profiles?

I've never heard of it but I'll check it out!

sort of, we did some screwing around with stuff to see if we could move things. it SEEMS like if you reboot the machine and log in as the local admin you can pull a full profile off no problem and stick it on a network. If you log the person into the computer you want to transfer the profile to it makes a profile. So if we do that, they have a profile then we just log in as the new machine's admin and put the profile guts in the folder.

I am on V7. I have just deleted cookies, history etc and I will see that helps.
    Thanks Jim

I just did all that over on IE. It did nothing. FOr some reason, TDS's server or whatever is being picky.

Yeah, I had done that too when I was at work to no avail. It didn't help me a bit...

I just did it and it seemed faster at first but after the previous post it went back to being slow. Its weird that I can get into TSD go to this thread and post with somewhat normal effeciency. After that it gets slow and I have to close TSD down and then get back in. I then repeat this process thru the day.

Can you download another browser without getting in trouble?

that's pretty much it, I have some steps for setting up a domain default profile, I can dig that up if you think it may help

    *fingers crossed*

    *cursed fingers! not crossed enough!*

well, it was worth a shot, and it never hurts to cleanup a bit
it does seem to be an IE thing, though, but I didn't use it long enough to see if I had the same problem with IE that ya'll describe
another longshot thought, it could be something with TSD and your ISP, but I doubt it since B&B works fine for you.
Just be patient, though, I'm sure Sparky will get it smoothed out, though
    in the meantime

I can't install anything at work.

However, I've learned of a version of Firefox that you can use straight off a thumb drive. I think I may check that out...when I get back to work on Monday...
