1. They were made from the 60's to the 90's though.
  2. As I tend to grip just under the head, the extra length didn't mean much - and the head was standard SuperSpeed. I have no idea how well they did or didn't sell. I like the flatter 'Slim Twist' to the round knack/super slim (various names varous countries).

  3. Only outside North America I think. It was Gillette's way of forcing stubborn Brits/German/French to finally get with the program and switch to more profitable carts. It worked.

  4. They were made in the U.S. for quite a while, I think, at least until the early 80's. But, yes, they were made in England until 1992 if memory serves.

  9. I've been on an English Tech kick lately, and LC Minora is definitely worth the purchase! Very much like the 7 O'clock razor; could be twins.
  10. myself included. i am still waiting on a fat handle flat bottom from germany. curious? is a tech hybrid worth the money if one came up? i am not a trophy hunter .

  11. I have shaved with the following
    TTO's:
    Sheraton '37
    Milady '40
    Ranger Tech '41
    40's Super Speed NDC
    Aristocrats(46-47, 48-51)
    Black Tip '51, '52
    50's Super Speed '54
    Diplomat '55
    English Parat Rocket '56-'57
    Blue Tip '56
    Red Tip '56
    Fat Boy '59, '61
    Slim '64, '66
    Black Beauty '70
*I do have a 1966 Vacation Travel Kit that I am reluctant to use...

    3-Piece Open Comb's:
    102
    102a
    New Improved
    Goodwill
NEW(Short Comb, Long Comb, 17mm DeLuxe)

    3-Piece Tech's:
    Pre-War Tech
    Post War Tech(NDC)
    Post-War Tech '58, '70, '80

It seems that I can't say any of these are bad shaves(but I did not try any of the razors people have been negative about either). Some are more aggressive than others, but none are bad. The 102 & 102a can have a bit of variance between one head to another. Yet, even with the variance, I have had amazingly close shaves with the 102 & 102a.
The bad shaves have come when I have done it wrong.
The lightest shaves have come from the late Techs.
The most aggressive shaves have come from the Sheraton.
I need to add that it is difficult to include the Fat Boy & Slim because they can be tuned to our preference. It should also be mentioned that as my technique has improved, I will revisit those which I viewed as uncomfortable and too aggressive.

  12. I recently got my hands on a Rocket HD, and at first intended to sell it. But after shaving with it the past several days, I have to admit it has become my favorite. So much so that I’m already looking for another just in case the first one breaks. Because, why not?

Up to this point, I’ve tried the following...but none have been as intuitive (for me) and smooth as the HD.

    Pre & Post war Tech
    NEW SC
    40s SS

  13. I am going to assume the Rocket HD is like the Parat that I have. The Parat really seems to shave like the Black Tip and the Diplomat, which I would put in-between the Pre-War Tech and the 40's SS in terms of efficiency, but shaves easily as smooth as the Pre-War Tech
  14. if there were a worst, it might look something like this:

I actually bought one, but I haven't tried it yet

  15. I used mine a few days ago. It gets the job done. I paid the USD equivalent of $.60 in Cambodia for razor and blades which strikes me as a better deal than my Slim Twist, the actual worst Gillette since the Super Click is at least without pretense.

  16. Actually it's not a bad razor; I have one, though it is very mild.
