Can I ask an honest question here? Why do we need "what fill in the blank did you use today? We already have a Shave of the Day thread, don't they all belong in that thread? Far toooooo much confusion here lately, you need a degree in forums to keep up. Kerry
CJB Pain Stick Focus 3.19.2018 Pre-shave: hot shower Brush: VHD Badger Cream: KMF Cool Mint Moisture Shave Razor: CJB pain stick Blade: Feather Professional (2) Post-shave: Dickinson's Original WH, Nivea Men Sensitive Cooling PS Balm, Skin Bracer AS I took 10 days off from the CJB in order to let a cut heal on my left jaw line. I picked up the CJB today and had an outstanding shave!
Hmmmm.... come to think of it. I had one very similar to that, except it was dark gray. I also had a denim three piece. That was a stud-outfit (in the 70s).
May I ask how many passes are you making with the CJB? Do you make a XTG pass, and if so, nose to ear, or ear to nose?. The XTG pass is what has put me off a fixed handle razor, so I would be very interested to know how you are finding it.

Not everyone reads all the threads. I do not read the shave of the day thread, but read the 30 day thread and the straight razor threads. This thread puts all the shavette related posts in one place, it’s more efficient for those who are learning to shave with shavettes.
On both cheeks I do one pass, north to south which is with the grain. With the CJB I’m finding one pass is all I need on the cheeks. I’m stretching the skin which really helps. My neck is more of a challenge to get a close shave. To keep it simple I do the first pass from the jaw line down, then if needed a second pass from the south end up to the jaw line. Then I’m done regardless to avoid irritation. I’m shaving every 2nd or 3rd day with this one while I learn to use it. I have a mustache and goatee so I don’t have to deal with those areas.
Thanks. Makes sense. I find similar with the Feathers that they take a lot off the cheeks. I shave with different passes with the SS, DX and Kai and the blade I load.

Pre-shave: Musgo glycerine soap Brush: Semogue 830 Soap: Geo F Trumper Sandalwood Razor: Kai Captain Blade: Feather Pro A/S: Proraso balm I love the Kai Captain. It is such a pleasure to use. The Trumper soap on the other hand just doesn't seem to hold a lather on the face in a hard water area. Got carried away and made three passes just because I was enjoying myself.
