Hey Friends,

here is my belated Sunday shave. I´ve had absolutely no time to post it earlier due to extreme stress at work. But it´s over now...thank god!!!


Razor: Merkur 34c / Blade: ASCO / Soap: Valobra Mandorla / Brush: Rubberset Replica / Aftershave: Pinselman´s Bay Rum

Great shave. The Valobra is a top notch soap. I´ve had it once before, but it was years ago. Didn´t know how good this soap was (and is). Lovely scent, very easy to lather and skinfeel during and after the shave is fantastic.

Cream castle Forbes lime, brooch Semogue owners club badger two bands, Kamisori Iwasaki 5/8, after shave Myrsol agua de limón, cologne coty wild citrus. A great shave.

Blade: Guard Single Edge cart. (7)
Lather: Gillette Foamy

Easy 2 pass, WTG/ATG. Straight forward, smooth strokes all the way. Clean up with a light slurry in all directions. Cold water rinse, apply AS and.....Voila! A BBS. God Bless.

tobacco and birch shave butter
barbon shave cream
shavette w/a fresh derby in the lock
3 bay rum a/s mix

Shave butter as a base layer,Barbon lathered over it.Enough lather for 4 passes,very slick and cushiony.This combo may be the best superlather I have mixed up.The 2 passes and a touchup were effortless.Followed up by a cool water face wash.Then a splash of Benjamin's menthol bay rum mixed with Stephans Bay and my home made Bay with glycerin and beard oil.
Then off to the hospital.But I smell nice,even the wyffe commented on the mix.

Prep: MLSW Sandalwood Pre Shave Butter
Razor: Gillette Fat Handle Tech
Blade: Bolzano (1st shave)
Brush:Maggard 28mm synthetic
Soap: Wild West Peace Pipe
Post: HEV Cognac & Cuban Cigars balm


Did a quick 1 pass with touch ups. Had some trouble with the lather today, put a nice size chunk in the copper bowl, might have been from the larger brush but lather was thin and not very protective. I know that this soap is capable of making a nice lather, but sometimes seems sensitive to the water. The scent reminds me of MW Sweet Briar and is a sweet pipe tobacco that smells great. Despite the lather issues the shave went relatively well, had to take it light since there was still some irritation from past shaves. Finished off with Cognac & Cuban Cigars to keep with the tobacco theme, plus it has excellent skin care. Hope everyone had a great shave!

Nothing like A trip down memory lane. First lather with the new Maseto Synthetic. Nice lather but doesn't hold water near like a badger or Boars hair. Super soft bristles.

Happy first day of Spring! Although here in the land of the rivers it was more like a winter day. Cold, windy, a little precip here and there. But, those of us in the Lou know that we shouldn't complain. The first day of Spring can bring everything from ice storms to tornadoes so a chilly cloudy day isn't all that bad.

Another night with the quick and easy setup. SS, Rapira Swede, Proraso and the Stirling synthetic brush. Two passes, some touch up and a very nice DFS is the result. I used the new camera again and the picture was totally out of focus. Learning curve ahead. Haven't used a real camera in years. I'll keep at it.
