    March Madness!!!

    March 20

    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Soap - Proraso Green Tub
Brush - Stirling Two Band Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Happy first day of Spring! Although here in the land of the rivers it was more like a winter day. Cold, windy, a little precip here and there. But, those of us in the Lou know that we shouldn't complain. The first day of Spring can bring everything from ice storms to tornadoes so a chilly cloudy day isn't all that bad.

Another night with the quick and easy setup. SS, Rapira Swede, Proraso and the Stirling synthetic brush. Two passes, some touch up and a very nice DFS is the result. I used the new camera again and the picture was totally out of focus. Learning curve ahead. Haven't used a real camera in years. I'll keep at it.

    Happy Hump Day tomorrow!

Of course, you can keep it simple and easy by only using one soap. Nobody really needs 25 soaps, right? Right? Hello? And no, I'm not going to count mine. I don't need to know.

Tabac is definitely hydrophilic. (Sorry, had to use a technical term). Definitely loves the water and can take a lot before it breaks down. Mitchell's as well.

I learned the hard way when learning pain sticks that a firm grip is the wrong way to hold them. You don't want to drop them (and i still have a small scar to prove it) but you are right - if you hold them too tight and clench up you're going to be shedding lots of blood. I like the image of eating finger sandwiches - with the pinky raised. Good image and it describes a good grip for pains well.

Make sure you get the wave right when saying all those thank yous. White gloves required as well.

    No shave for me today!

Here's some Stone Roses as I unpack from travels....

Other than that... All is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a great evening!

    Welcome home...
Stone Roses? Haven’t heard them in 20 years... loved the debut in the late 80s- Waterfall, Wanna Be Adored, She Bangs the Drum. Good stuff.

I think that album ("The Stone Roses") is the single most underrated recording of the late eighties. Great band. My faves are these two songs:

    Shoot You Down

(Song for my) Sugar Spun Sister

    "Until the sky turns green
The grass is several shades of blue
Every member of parliament trips on glue

It takes all these things and all that time
Till my sugar spun sister's happy
    With this love of mine
It'll take all these things and oh much more. "

    March 21 SOTD:

    Razor: Razorock Hawk V2
    Blade: Feather AC Professional Super
    Brush: Razorock Plissoft
    Lather: Arko Cool
    Aftershave: Adidas Dynamic Pulse
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

Shave two with this blade, and it definitely smoothed out. Again, it was a high grade DFS on two passes, but a lot smoother. I hope everyone has a great day!

I am really enjoying this hardware lineup. The WDC-6 brush is a joy to use face lathering. The handle feels nice and the knot has scrub with excellent flow through. Another excellent two pass shave with the General this morning. I stuck with the same routine as yesterday with an ATG pass followed by XTG pass. Paying attention and skin stretching had the baby in sight. I buffed out my lower right neck and ended up with a fantastic BBS shave. A splash of Fine Italian Citrus and I am off to work on taxes. I hope everyone has a great Wednesday.

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick Proline
    Razor: Schick M adjustable
    Brush: Zenith B02 boar
Soap: Jeeves of Hudson Street Bay Rum
Post: Witch hazel, Jeeves of Hudson Street Black Tea aftershave

A nice hump bay shave this morning. We all know that the Jeeves Bay Rum is a wonderful soap. The scent is so hard to describe, but it's terrific all around. Nice shave with the Schick M and Proline blade. All came together quite well.

    Enjoy your day!

This morning, I tried beginning with a dry brush-didn't work, so I quickly wet it some. Once again, my second pass was a "This Better Be Better" pass, not a "Let's Finish This Baby Off". To me, the TSD Splash AS(Bay Rum)starts off a bit clovey, now is beginning to settle down into the nice balance a good Bay Rum aftershave should provide.
