Beautiful PAL, Dan! Did the "shy girl" come to visit?
    Here's hoping for Vegas! :eatdrink047: :D
Fantastic setup, Keith, with that big ol straight! Congrats on killing off the Castle Forbes!
    Cool shot, Jim!
Great photo, Clint! Love the addition of the bike!
Superb picture, Perry! I've got a Proline loaded in my N1 for my next shave, excited to try it in a milder (last one was in my E2) razor.

    Gem G-Bar
    Gem PTFE (5)
Stirling Iced Pineapple Soap and AS
    Hardright Anchorset (24mm, Frigate class)
    Stirling Glacial unscented PSB

Super gooped Stirling Iced Pineapple? Yes please (inspired by Perry, @PLAla ) ! I started out this shave with one of my bulk Gem CS blades, took one stroke and said "nope". Switched it out for a PTFE blade that had four shaves on it previously, much better. Three ease passes with the G-bar. It was milder then my 1912 but I like the weight of the razor and SS PTFE blade had no problem bringing home the baby. Finished off with the matching AS and unscented glacial PSB and HOLY CRAP I couldn't feel my face for 30 minutes after the shave. When feeling did return to my face I found it well hydrated and smooth. Have a great day my friends!

I love my girls, but this is my nightmare too. My plan is to tell them to pick one, college or a wedding. Then refuse to pay unless it is for college. I haven't run that one by Mrs. Gulch yet.

I've been being one of those guys since high school. I like to think I am Waldorf. My youngest is 2, and my oldest is 5. I'm also 24 years out from retirement, have a full tank of gas, a half a packet of cigarettes, it's dark, and I'm wearing sunglasses. Hit it.

Sounds like a plan. Provided our girls did their part making the great grades and remained single including no shacking up, we committed to paying for college and grad school. The requirement included it actually be a degree program that would allow them to get a job and pay their own bills. We have been fortunate with both girls getting academic scholarships that have helped with the cost.

Paying for their weddings, I just don't think I will have much authority on that. My wife will drive that bus and I am smart enough to stay out of the way.

I haven't been having a lot of luck with this set up as far as avoiding irritation. My muscle memory from straights is assuming a longer and more forgiving edge. I thought about this as I was getting ready to shave, and as I loaded a new blade I realized something. I don't like the first shave with a DE or SE blade. I also don't usually like the first shave with a freshly honed straight, unless I strop it quite a bit to soften it. I know the purpose of this focus was to get me to a point where I could get a comfortable and bloodless shave with a shavette, but it hasn't been going real well. Normally, with a DE blade, I will strop it some before the first use to mellow it out a bit. So today, I loaded the blade, muted the tip, then stropped it 10 laps on a horsehide strop. I know what got me hooked on wetshaving was the ability to dial in and get a really comfortable shave, and figured this is along the lines of what I do with a straight. No blood, very little irritation, and a BBS face, jaw, and chin, with a DFS neck. I could tweak the angle to where I wanted, and it reduced my hesitancy in how I moved the blade. My first really good shave with this set up. TLDR: Apparently, I don't like really sharp blades. I found a way to fix that.

Glad you got the issue figured out Adam and managed to get a really good shave with the shavette. I never would have thought of stropping the blade.
