What Straight Razor Did You Use Today?

If I had to choose a razor, normally a wedge is not at the top of the list... but this razor has turned my world upside down.
Maybe the Nakayama tomo and Okudo made beautiful music together, maybe the vintage Red Imp strop was magical, or maybe the Williams was made with unicorn tallow... all plausible and I was left grinning from ear to ear !

I am having issues with carbon steel razors causing extreme irritation at the moment, so I made a single XTG/ATG pass. It was a good shave but I made a quick ATG pass with a #1 plate on my Rockwell 6S to make sure I didn't get any residual irritation. Not sure the Rockwell took any additional hair away with the #1 plate!

I've been enjoying this vetiver soap. I have no idea who made it but it's a nice and mild true vetiver with excellent post shave feel, maybe Mystic Water. Very nice shave this morning. Have a good one.

Today's shave was with a somewhat new razor, I had bought used. I've used it several times, and it holds a keen edge. I had a 2 pass shave, that yielded a BBS finish. Zero issues.

5/8 Mappin and Webb Sheffield Blade Had a very good shave with this recently acquired straight .I just gave her a quick touch up on a Vintage Felsner Ruby Hone.

 

Working with the vintage C. F. Wolfertz blade, and trying out the Zoologist Civit soap and Chiseled Face Cryogen aftershave. That stuff's like a blast from the arctic, whew!

I'd also like to know how many civits they had to grind up to make all this soap. Aren't they a protected species or something??

Had an extremely close shave with this Blade.Love the weight and grind of this Swedish Straight.

 

Today's shave was with another newish razor. I had a very smooth, but sensitive 2 pass shave, due to the Yeti Snot. That stuff makes me feel every frozen hair on my face. I ended up with a near BBS shave. It's been a while since the Yeti snot was used, and I was tearing up, the entire shave. Coooold, but very slick stuff.

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Musgo Real Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #266 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gold Dollar 7/8 Straight Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

I used my Case “Temperite” this morning. It was a nice 2 pass shave.

 

As always lots of cool razors on this thread. I’ve to busy to post so I’ll do a catch up tomorrow.

homemade boar-Semogue SOC or 2000 can't remember which but pretty sure it's a SOC knot totally messed with.
Nice shave this morning. The razor was finished with a white translucent arkie and gave a nice edge. First time using Dr. Jon's, really like the scent, lathered great but found it slightly drying.

 

two wosty's finished nicely.
