Friday night shave. Which means it's Monday morning for me tomorrow. What a quick weekend I had. Head shave up first with the Merkur 23C, Astra and Arko. Final head shave at Cartel HQ 1.0. The next one will be sometime next weekend at HQ 2.0. I'm pretty sure it won't be Friday night, though, as that is the main moving day and I doubt I'll be in much shape to try a head shave.

As for the regular shave, day two on the Ladas in the Super Speed. Same great lather, same great gear, and a very nice DFS result. Perfect to start what is going to be a very long week. Six days of work followed by a move. Yeah, I know, you all wish you were me.

Hope you have a great weekend!

    SATURDAY SHAVE

Shampoo - Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage Tea Tree
Bath Soap - Mrs. Meyers Clean Day Lemon Verbena Bar Soap

Razor - Antique Gillette 1907 Old-Type fully restored and re-plated in gold by Razor Emporium
Blade - Bolzano Superinox *Fresh Blade
Shave Brush - Gentleman's Hangar Synthetic
Shave Stand by Robert Evans on Etsy. Must request custom project to order.
Shave Soap - Mama Bear's "Bounty"
    Pre-shave Oil - Lather & Wood "unscented"
Aftershave - Country Club for Men "1837"
Post-shave Balm - Retseliney Luxury Skin Care Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum
Deodorant - Ooh La Active Organics "Lemon-Mint"
    Fragrance - Creed Royal Water

I'll be going with my Royal Water shave set for my opening Spring Shave and I'll be trying out the Bolzano Superinox blade that Jimjo sent me in the mail. I've been saving it for the right time to try out.

Yes, that's a brand new bottle of my private stash reserve of a discontinued aftershave from Country Club for Men. And the deodorant that Organic Essence used to make was discontinued, so I searched for weeks to source an EXACT duplicate scent of my beloved deodorant that makes this set magic. The mint from the deodorant layers with the Creed Royal Water fragrance to make a seriously awesome aroma therapy experience for the day. This great shave set is now launched for yet another year top shelf enjoyment.

Edit.....I had my shave and bath. The Bolzano Superinox is the most comfortable in-shave razor I've used with the Old-Type. I still had a couple of weepers, but that is due to the aggressiveness of the Old-Type and my pushing BBS angles on the shave, along with likely this being a fresh-blade. I achieved a BBS result with the only irritation being my most problematic spots that can get irritated regardless of the razor or blade or soap or products. My Adam's Apple area is hit and miss in terms of irritation on every shave.

I'm seriously considering bumping out the Wilkinson Sword and placing the Bolzano as my blade of choice for the Old Types, provided that it passes the next test in my Gillette ABC "Empire" Old-Type, which is a much more finicky razor (the 'most' finicky razor I have and most difficult to get an irritation-free shave with in my collection). So thanks to Jimjo1031 for the trial blade. I had my doubts but it's actually the best performing blade in a very aggressive Old-Type for me.

    Smooth Steve,

You're going to have to let us know how that old Eclipse razor shaves. Aggressive? Mild? Middle of the Road?

A couple of firsts today, notably the soap and brush.
It took me a while to dial this soap in, I think it was on the lash last night because it had a raging thirst.
Once dialed in it's an excellent performer but a bit of an enigma, whilst shaving the scent is very subdued and there's a fatty undertone, once rinsed though the scent comes alive - very strange. A pity because the scent is really nice and would be enjoyable during the shave.
I only gave the brush two days of the fridge treatment as I didn't know how the badger hair would react and it's a bit scritchy but not uncomfortably so and I think/hope it'll break in nicely.
Anyway, please excuse the rambling and have a great weekend.

I certainly can't complain about this shave because it turned out fantastic. Mo's RVT Roseline soap is one of the nicest I've ever used in my life. Its lather works up so easily, its scent is lovely, and it gives awesome skincare. The Pinaud Bay Rum stung like hell for a few seconds but then it felt great.

    Have a good weekend!

I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Musgo Real Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #266 synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gold Dollar 7/8 Straight Razor and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
