Tuesday March 27 - still with the samples


Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless (1)

B+M Latha Taiga sample
Alum and Sunday Co Arenella Coast balm

Finally, a Latha sample with some scent strength to it! Taiga was a mix of fir, balsam and cedar and smelled pleasantly like northern forest. Usual decent Latha lather and okay shave performance. The fresh blade was smooth and sharp in the Rockwell adjustable, giving me a DFS in two passes. I didn't have an aftershave that exactly matched the Taiga so I went with Arenella Coast and its cedar base.

Tomorrow I use the last of my discontinued Latha samples, Lavanda. As the name suggests, it's a straight lavender scent and seems to be quite a strong one too, especially for the Latha line. I then have two or three current B&M soap samples to take me to the end of March, and a few odds and ends to use up into the beginning of April.

 

I thought I smelled warm colitas.

 

I was at a Kaereoke where someone sang that...sounded funny because she had to stop at "But you can never leave" of course. Some who never heard the song might say "Yeah, what's next?"

 

If you’ve never heard a blind drunk, tone deaf woman take a run at White Rabbit, you still haven’t seen the worst kaereoke has to offer!!

 

That might be good for a giggle
I had the misfortune to witness a Caucasian university student do a cringe worthy rendition of Lil Jon's "Get Low". I think he thought it sounded good in his head. The rest of us waited with varying degrees of patience for it to end.

March 27th. We are way too close to the end of March. Seems like just yesterday we starting the month, madness went MAD around here and now we're on the brink of the move. Two more days and then the hard labor begins. Still raining here, though the forecast says sun on Friday which is good. Then rain on Saturday. Just means Friday needs to be extra productive.

As for the final shaves of the month tonight was the last night on the Astra SP. Not because it's bad, just because I normally go three and out. The past three shaves with this setup have been extremely nice, relaxing, and efficient. Near-BBS result tonight with two passes and the hint of sandalwood still lingering is very nice.

Two more shaves in Cartel HQ 1.0. They'll be with, what else, the Mighty Voskhod! Then we'll see whether the first shave in HQ 2.0 is Friday or Saturday. Depends on my ability to move at the end of the day.

Best of luck this weekend. Hope everything falls together nicely! I've sent Yuri with a few housewarming gifts for CHQ2.0, because ibuprofen and potato vodka are basically interchangeable. I think. Or something like that. Anyhow, may the sun shine brightly upon you and may your new home be filled with all things good!

 

Thanks! Right now it looks like everything is in place and it should be smooth. Well, smooth-ish. I've never had any move that I would call smooth. I hate doing it. I'll be looking for Yuri because we will definitely need the ibuprofen and all the vodka we can get! Hopefully he won't get lost on the way to the new place. Drunk minions are friendly and helpful, but not always the best with directions.

 

Living in a country where karaoke is popular trust me, it is only enjoyable when all of the participants are very drunk.

Tonight decided to take a break and use the first razor I ever bought. Got a BBS shave with the setup, with some touch up help from NDC Super Speed. The handle on the razor is just to long and heavy, much to difficult to maneuver. Lather not to bad, the fragrance oils in the gray scale still irritating freshly shaved skin. Likely won't pull the razor and soap out again. Have a nice evening, morning gentlemen.
