Shave #21 on the Cape 1000 edge longevity test. Nothing but Kanoyama suede and cordovan so far, and the edge is still smooth. I'm using 35 suede/65 cordovan post shave, though sometimes I've done just a few more.

    Cheers, Steve

Today's shave was with a Respected razor, that loves to bite. Always has. I had a silky smooth 2 pass shave, that left me BDBS. I was left with two little weepers. From what? I don"t know, that's just the way this razor is. Most of the time, I have a beautiful shave with it, but if my attention isn't 100%, well, it tells me. No biggie. Little blood, and no pain.

Razor- "Respect 4". Silver Steel, made in Germany.
Brush- JR#262. Ebony/Birdseye Maple, Silvertip Badger.
    Soap- Arko/Sandalwood
Aftershave- Avon Spicy. Viking Horn Decanter.

The razor just wants to be ‘Respected.’ What a perfect name.

When I first started SR shaving, this razor was the first one to bite me hard, a couple of times. That tip is what got me, at first, now it is just so freaking sharp, any imperfections on the skin are effortlessly removed.

The Gold Dollar I posted over in the honing thread. The edge was just a little 'bitey', so although a fine edge, it might have needed a tad more slurry to mellow the edge a little more.

Soap was MdC agrumes (citrus) and the brush a lotus-handled 22mm Shavemac finest by life2short1971.

An almost BBS shave with one of my newest acquisitions - a George Wostenholm and Sons "Pipe Razor". Very enjoyable 3 passes.

Yes, it is - pre-1891. The thumb notch coupled with the deep and tightly spaced jumps make handling it really nice. :happy088:

The Especial Para Barbas Duras models seem quite rare. What is the difference between them and the other Filarmonica razors? Is it the grind?
