Thank you Jason. I will update my thoughts on the C&E Cream over the next several weeks as I use it more.

Quite a bit of rain for a while, the night time light show was pretty impressive. How about out your way?

It passed over night after I went to bed, missed the show. All the usual panicky predictions, just a bit of wind yesterday and a damp lawn today.

Thursday March 29 - finishing off the residue of soap samples
    IMG_00000207.jpg

    Rockwell 6s on plate #3 / Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless ( 2 )
Kent BK12 The Soap Aircraft Carrier
    The Dry Dock shave bowl
    B+M Latha melange of soaps
    Clubman VIBR

While trying the Latha soaps the last few days, I have smeared a large chunk of soap in my shave bowl and then simply left any residue in the bowl. The next day, I would smear a large chunk of the next scent in the bowl so it completely covered the residue and carry on. After finishing with the last of my five scents yesterday, I had a fairly large puddle of mixed soaps built up in the bottom of the shave bowl. So today I deployed the Aircraft Carrier to clean up.

The photo shows the Dry Dock with the Aircraft Carrier in it before beginning operations.

The result was a great pillowy badger brush full of warm lather smelling vaguely like a lemony pine forest on the edge of a lavender field. I relathered twice to enjoy the feel of the brush and lather, and did two and a half passes with the smooth sharp blade to catch the Baby.

I skipped the alum and went directly to the Islands splash.

There was still enough soap left in the bowl for one more shave, so I will deploy the Aircraft Carrier again tomorrow to finish off my Latha line soaps in style.

Your description makes me want to mix all the my Latha together, John! I know it’s not B&M’s top soap, but I still enjoy them, nonetheless. To me they are simple, clean scents on a better than average base.

Great pic and write up, John. If that brush doesn’t do it, nothing will.

Thank you, gentlemen! I thoroughly enjoyed my "mix and match" shave today. Except for the AS -- bay rum was nice but didn’t do anything to extend the soap scent. I think tomorrow I will have to go with the Supply Co balms and mix a spritz of Arenella Coast with one of Lost Provence for that cedar, oakmoss, bergamot plus lavender, basil and blue sage vibe...

Another day in the name of Science with the New LC today. Whipped up just a fantastic Seville lather. Went to town on a 3 pass shave. I’ve pushed this blade a little too far, as I could feel a little tugging on the ATG pass on my neck that resulted in a couple of sizable weepers. I’m completely smooth, however. This is just an awesome razor. One more day with the LC, with a new blade, but I know already that this is one of my very favourite shavers. Maybe just below the Monobilt.
Have a great afternoon and evening all!

Retreating from the Pain Stick Focus Account

    SOTD 3.29.2018
    Brush: Barburys synthetic
    Soap: VDH Deluxe
Razor: CJB pain stick (face) + Gillette Tech (scalp)
Blade: Feather Professional (1) + Generic "Best Choice" DE (4)
Post-shave: Dickinson's Original WH, Gillette Sensitive Skin AS Gel, Gillette Cool Wave AS

I wasn't really planning to face shave today. I face shaved yesterday with the Krona instead of the CJB and I meant to pick it up and shave with it tomorrow. Nevertheless, I had significant stubble this morning and I decided, "What the heck! I'm shaving." I loaded a fresh blade in the pain stick. I loaded a generic Vietnamese made blade in the Gillette Tech for a scalp shave and I went to work. The synthetic brush produced a magnificent lather and I started out with the CJB on the right side of my face. I went slow, easy and concentrated on the angle. I was doing well. I moved over to the left cheek and started at the temple. I started my downward stroke and crap! I nicked my left ear. Just a little, but it was enough to bleed. And it bled, and bled. If you ever cut your ear, even just a little you know how much it bleeds and it's never easy to get it to stop. I spent quite a few minutes getting it to stop... and it wasn't that big of a cut. I finished the left side of the face and my neck with the CJB, but using extreme caution. I picked up the Tech and did the 2nd and final pass on my face with it.

I've gotten a little spooked now using the pain stick. I've decided I'm going to have to set it aside for awhile and do something else. I'm not saying I won't try to tackle it again. I just need to step away from it and put some time between it and me. During the first couple of weeks in March was I enjoying its use. I was having good shaves, and I felt confident in using it. But these last couple of weeks I've spilled some blood, and I've still got wounds I'm licking, and thus I've lost confidence in my ability to use it safely. I need a time-out.

Otherwise, the rest of the shave and post-shave went very well.

    Happy shaves everyone!

Excellent photograph, Jason! I've been watching your progress with the NEW this month and you've encouraged me to use a NEW my wife gave me last month. I'm still trying to figure out if it's a LC or a SC but I'll find out.
