I think it's a General. 4 or 5' bed . Load of tools with it too. He's got a bunch of general stuff for sale . Planer, jointer, dust extraction system. My girlfriend's father is interested too so maybe win win . May inherit his old one .

Real General stuff is worth its weight in gold. Just folded up shop in Drummondville, Quebec but had been in business for decades. Made in Canada. All cast iron and bombproof. Just make sure it isn’t General ‘International’. That is the made in Taiwan version. Maybe ok, but more hit and miss. If the tools are High Speed Steel, they are expensive as well. Look for HSS on the steel. Sorby and Henry Taylor are probably the best known brands.

I think some of it is 20 or more years old but I will take a closer look. The jointer look like it weighs a ton . Big heavy stuff. Thanks for the heads up as I am a welder and I know very little about woodworking stuff. They all have a busy bee tag under the General name .

IMHO, Don’t worry about the age if it is General.

    Gillette Adjustable Friday
    SOTD 3.30.2018
    Brush: Barburys synthetic
    Cream: TOBS Sandalwood
Razor: Gillette Slim (set to 6)
    Blade: Generic "Best Choice" (6)
Post-shave: T.N. Dickinson's WH, Neutrogena Men Sensitive PS Balm, Shulton Old Spice Cologne

Rick, @RyX, inspired me to use the TOBS Sandalwood followed up by some Shulton Old Spice. Works very well. Thanks, Rick!

This generic blade is performing remarkably well. Usually, I toss them after 3 or 4 uses, but it's still going strong. I'm thinking I might see how long it takes before it throws in the towel. I'm curious now.

Simple two pass shave on my face and I was finished. Awesome shave!

    Have a great weekend everyone!

Busy Bee is the supply company. Does it say ‘International’ right under General? If so, it is just a generic Taiwan tool with General’s name and green paint job.

I'll have to take another look next time I'm up at the garage. I just remember seeing busy bee tags on them and he said they were all General.

Welcome Dan! I've got enough of my sample to do that combo one more time. Twice if I scrimp on the lather, but why do that?

That is a pretty razor. What is it? Great photo!

What a nice shave experience to start out the weekend. Another amazing photo, Clint! Are you sure you're not a professional photographer working for a Wet-Shaver's magazine?

Randy, the Jason's (@jtspartan) bowl and your Dad's brush handle look perfect together! Both of them look great!

Wise choice. My shaves have improved and have been more satisfying when I stopped trying to find the hidden baby after multiple passes on my neck. 2 passes and I'm done.

Terrific photo, and well-done with your focus this month! See you in April!

    Andrew, you have a nice-looking Clog-Pruf!

    Excellent set-up, Jason! Happy Easter!

    Another delightful shave, John! Well-done!

Your MMOC is in great shape! Excellent picture, Jared!

Photos, man! We need to see them!

I've got a line on a Marshall Peerless Jewelers lathe.

Little table top model from the 1940's. Not big enough to make bowls, but I'm thinking it just might turn a brush handle. Down side is the chucks are tiny. Research ongoing...

MARCH -ing out the last of the old DE blades.

    Stirling Piacenza SS sample
    Ocean boar - vintage knot
    Suribachi bowl & cool water
    '59 Fat Boy on nine
    Wilkinson Sword blade
    M&L Florida Water Cologne
SOTD 03302018 Wilkinson Sword blade.gif Just about cleared out my DE's of used blades. Grabbed the OS mug with a sample of citrus, florals, Rosemary, Amber, and musk scented Stirling. Easy lather out of this well broken in German brush. Last shave with this blade and only one in the Ming Shi left to clear. Then I'll survey my stash and make a decision on what to use instead of whatever I had left in a razor. Three easy passes and enough lather for the touching up of difficult corners and hollows. Been a relatively low humidity day so I skipped the alum again. Don't need to tighten up my skin and the AS has plenty of alcohol for astringent purposes. Received an error free DFS for my efforts.
    Good Shaves Y'all!

    March Madness Y'all 2018

I didn't shave today, because there was some heavy stuff going on...well not my heavy stuff, but I ran out of time and energy after all the hustle and bustle. The good news though...I love two day growth shaves!

Must be Friday Night....how about a funk break? No idea why I wrote that last rhetorical sentence. We don't kill them softly around here:

Other than that...I suppose all is quiet in Colorado.

    Have a superb Saturday!
    :)

What a day. The loading crew didn't show up. The secret weapon compensated better than I could have hoped. Unloading crew rocked it out. After a long day it's all under one roof, everyone ate BBQ and there will be no shave in this house tonight. Have a great weekend![IMG]
