Very nice Rick! I still don't know how you adequately load out of that tiny container.

    Thank you Clint!

Thank you Andrew! It's not magic. The tub is 60mm wide at the narrowest. I do souse the soap to ease loading. Catch a grip on the knot to hold the bristles together and away I go!

Now days I find it painful to load out of anything smaller then 3.5", Especially with a big 26mm+ brush. For 30mm+ brushes a 4" tub is really the smallest I want to go.

This might be my among my largest bore brushes. I've just tip toed into Destroyer Class. If I was doing Cruiser or Carrier it would limit some combos.

For those that may be mystified by the brush knot size classifications here they are.

    Carrier Class: >=34mm
    Battle Class(or Cruiser class): 30mm - 33mm
    Destroyer Class: 27mm - 29mm
    Frigate Class 24mm-26mm
    Corvette Class: <24mm

:bounce015:I have finally added a Carrier Class brush to my Armada. I'm sure it will make a showing this month!

Thanks, Rick. I can never remember the fine details. I guess I have one official Aircraft Carrier, one Soap Destroyer, two Corvettes and my other eight are Frigates. Put together, I think they now form quite a complete Task Force... Today I used a Corvette; the two of them don't get much use really.

If it can’t get done with a frigate, I’m not sure it needs to get done.

    Schick Krona / Gillette 7 O'clock Super Stainless (6)
Canadian Rubberset 100V reknotted with Maggards 22mm plissoft knot (Corvette class)
    The Dry Dock shave bowl
B+M Glissant Seville sample with TSD M-Bomb
Alum, Osage Rub and Lucky Tiger

I used one of my two Corvette class brushes today. (The other is my size small Muhle silvertip fibre synthetic). They don't get much use in my rotation, being overshadowed by the bigger brushes I prefer. I maybe should PIF them this year. This one was a bedraggled old boar brush when I got it in a mixed lot of old shaving stuff. I did a knot restoration on it and it turned out nicely if I do say so myself -- the handle cleaned up so it nearly looks mint. I actually have quite a lot of money sunk in this brush -- IIRC, it took a stack of at least five nickels to fill the hollow handle and give it a bit of weight. Anyway, it did an excellent job whipping the lather and then painting my face.

The 7 O'clock blade still seemed quite smooth and sharp on its sixth outing. I think I might let it run to see how many good shaves I can get out of it. The Krona provided another good shave today, but I think I will retire it tomorrow in favour of something adjustable.

Seville is a pleasant scent. The dominant scent is oranges, with various other things mixed in that I can't identify. I will have to look up the maker's description. A couple drops of M-Bomb on the soap before whipping translated into a mild menthol chill in the lather. A small amount of Osage Rub intensified that afterwards, before the Lucky Tiger followup extended the orange smell and added some skincare.

It was a good start to the week.

True, but I find my two larger class brushes fun to use occasionally. It does require tubs or a shave bowl sized to take them though...

That's like saying one topping on your ice cream is enough. OR all you need is one soap in the den

No, there are a lot of frigates with a ton of variety in my fleet. Just no Yogurt. But I do get your point, Andrew. I’m probably the last guy that argue toward shaving minimalism of any sort. Feel free to unleash SORDIS from whatever vessel you see fit

13 pages and 255 posts already and this April thread isn't even 48 hours old yet. If only other organizations were as efficient and effective in setting their goals and getting them accomplished.

I've been glancing at the thread since it started but that's it. I'm going to catch up and I'll be back.

“They were a generous PIF from a few folks...” Yeah, Communists.

“Only @wchnu seems to have fond memories...” Should’a figured. Operates a group of subversives, across the street.

Of course, our leader is a Boss in the Russian Mob, and our founder bombed Pearl Harbor.

Lord help us. I believe I have fallen into the talons of one of those Conspiratoryisms...

    It’s cause the blades suck.

I’m sticking to it until I get an epic shave from one.
