Thank you Keith. I too would have preferred her to be in Tucson at the U of A. However they only offer a PhD in Clinical Psychology not Behavioral. Who knows she might chant her mind over the next two years.

    Good evening gents!
Seems I have become a daily shaver. A nice close comfortable two pass shave. I'm really enjoying the Stirling soaps, slick and great post shave feel. Sharp Dressed Man this evening. I was hoping to pick out one or two scents from the samples to buy a full size puck and bottle of aftershave but so far I want all three that I have used. I have a feeling I'm going to end up with more than a couple.
    Good night and good shaves![IMG]

I wouldn't say he's "waffling a bit", I would say he has been a downright grouchy stick-in-the-mud over the whole suggestion. ;). And it's not like we asked for unicorn horn inlay on the tabletops and Sasquatch fur tassles around the feet either -- he's the one who suggested those refinements... Some craftspersons are just so tough to work with... :(

Good photo and report. And I see you have discovered the risk of samples -- they lead to a whole closet full of tubs and bottles...

first shave with a gillette nacet blade.very smooth.whiskers fell off .similar to a gsb so far.
did a tabac tuesday shave so not the planned soap, but i did use the brit flat bottom tech with the solid fluted handle( from my 53 canadian military set) .this handle is similar in weight to the ball end handle and the razor has nice balance. no effort needed.rode the cap and a drama free bbs evolved.very happy.shave inspired by @Primotenore .thank you gary 2018-04-03 18.54.36.png

I will take your advice, move up to plate 4. I have used a bunch of different razors lately, a slim, 40's superspeed, DE89, Redtip, Old Type. I can't argue with the results, I eventually get a very close shave, it just feels overly harsh during the shave, like it should be mowing down more whiskers per pass given how much I feel the blade on my skin.

    Brush: Omega Hi Brush synthetic
    Soap: Stirling Noir
    Razor: Gillette NEW SC
    Blade: Generic Best Choice (2)
Post-shave: Assured WH, Nivea Men Sensitive PS Balm, C.O. Bigelow No. 1581 Elixir Black Cologne

Late afternoon shave today. While I still like to bowl lather, I've been doing face lathers more and more. I face lathered the Stirling Noir and got a tremendous amount of lather without really trying too hard. I like this NEW. It provides a close and comfortable shave. I think I picked right on the No. 1581 cologne to compliment the Stirling soap.

    Happy shaves all!

Thanks John! The main reason I started wet shaving was because I read it's better for your skin than cartridges. Saving money was a side benefit. Yeah right! :)

Thank you, Jared! My first Unicorn! Yeaa! :bounce017:

I know you guys got a heck of a lot of snow compared to us. We ended up with only 4 inches over night. But it was heavy, wet snow. I spent about 4 hours today shoveling both at my house and at mom's. I'm quite tired tonight.

    NCoxSTL AAACK!

Pick one and get to shaving. I don't see a terrible blade in the bunch. well, maybe the Zorrik? I'm trying to find my notes on that one but the fact I don't remember it makes me think it's above average. The bad ones tend to stick out. You have some fine shaves coming up with all of those.
