I hate to admit it but I just couldn't stand it anymore so I bought the Thater boar. In addition, I've picked up a Mondial, a Zenith and have an ABC brush floating around in the postal system somewhere. I know, I be crazy. Give me a little time and I'll do a comparison including my homemade Omega and Semogue. I'll have the Thater later this week but not sure when the ABC will show up.
Yup. The rest of us know better than to do crazy stuff like that. On a saner note; today I gave the NOS never used 95 year old Kent C8 Pure Badger a Spa Day and its first lather. Now it's resting. Before its Spa Day: After its Spa Day:
Steve @oscar11, I have several shaving brushes as you know. I think that the best ones are the brushes that you made. I'm not trying to kiss up I am just stating my opinion
Steve - Was this just to jazz things up a bit? If I remember correctly, you preferred the Big Omegas to the Semogue boar brushes, but got the most use out of Shavemac Badger. I love seeing your handle-work. Most impressive.
Dale, no, I think i just lost my mind for awhile. Still a big fan of the relofted Omega and Semogues and just wanted to compare to some of other brushes. Never heard of Mondial or Zenith before and the Zenith 26 x 57 is one of the best factory boar brushes I've used. I even waited for the $5 increase in the Thater before I ordered. The Mondial I have is quite close to the dimensions of the Thater I ordered, we'll see how much different they perform. I retired last Friday so I need some experimental knots to play with.
Oscar, congratulations on your new brush and retirement. I hope you thoroughly enjoy both. You can never have enough brushes. I retired a couple years ago and one of my retirement pleasures is enjoying taking my time and enjoying my shaves to the fullest every day.
Congratulations on your retirement. Let the young guys have a go. Looking forward to reading of your exploits. Love your work.
Congrats on the incoming brushes and your retirement. Looking forward to your thoughts on the boars after you have a chance to test them out.
Congrats on the retirement. It has been 5 1/2 years for me and I am loving it. My thoughts and prayers is yours will be as great and enjoyable as mine has been,
