Let us start a new competition. Who can find the world's cheapest RETAIL, usable, safety razor. I repeat, it MUST be usable and have been used by the poster. I start with my submission, ladies and gents I present the Super Gillette complete with a single Blue Blade. [Blade marked as made in Shanghai] Price $20 Hong Kong Dollars - that is $2.55 Americonian Dollars or £1.82 British Pounds
Super Click, bought by me in Cambodia for $.60 (2500 Cambodian Riel) including blades. Used many times since.
You guys won't beat the one I saw on this board about a year ago. I believe it was @mrchick that posted it, but can't be sure. He used a nut & bolt to hold a blade. My guess is it cost about 12 cents. That's hard to beat.
Yeah well I've shaved with a bare blade with my fingers but that don't count either. Next. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
The entry has to be a retail item!!! I saw someone shave with a blade glued to a lolly stick - that does not count either.
There was this one which cost $1 at Dollar Tree back in September: Several of us found it perfectly usable (even the Chinese-made blades) if a bit touchy about being closed completely. BTW, I saw a thread on another forum which indicated that Dollar Tree is now selling a similar razor under their "Assured" brand.
Not terrible but I wouldn't recommend going out of my way for them given other options. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Bought on Ebay 2 for $5, but saw it at a local Asian market for $1. They also have the Dorco ST301 $1 per tuck of 10 blades:
This would be my entry. They shave fine and dirt cheap. I have bought them off the bay. Great something to hunt up....thanks. Those shave good. I use that blade, from the Family Dollar , often
Dollar Tree $1 razor plus a pack of 5 blades. Gives a pretty respectable shave. Almost feels like a toy, but can't complain for a $buck....
I picked one of these up and got a perfectly serviceable shave out of it. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
I saw those yesterday! If they worked for you, you could just throw them away after you used up each tuck of blades and be money ahead - $1.00 for a 5 pack of blades isn’t too bad!
