It wasn't actually from a bat but from the bat-making process. Someone from the shaving community visited the factory and attached museum that makes Louisville Sluggers in Louisville KY. While there, they got a bunch of souvenir stubs -- when the dowel is put on the lathe and turned into a bat, a piece at the end that was held in the chuck is left over. They gave a handful of these stubs to Jim Roe @Jayaruh and he has been turning them into various kinds of shaving brushes.

Long gone, Strop Shoppe Baker Street definitely a classic. How does it pair with the Stirling AS?

The NECK can be a real pain sometimes. It didn't used to be.

Pairs quite well. The soap leans more to the peppermint side whereas the splash has much more of the juniper element. Don't know if the juniper scent has worn off in the soap or what, but they pair well with a different focus on the top scent note.

Ahhhhh. I know Mr.Jim Roe. I may have to just adopt another brush that I can't put down. Ever try lathering with a brush in each hand?

Ancient shaver's proverb say: "Always beware the man with one brush; his lather gets where he wants it to go. The man using two brushes paints his bathroom with suds." :yoda:D

Day 3 with all the SA/PermaSharps and Arko. Cut a bit off the stick and pressed it in the bottom of the bowl. Whipped up a pretty decent lather and had 2 nice passes. This blade is done. I’ll swap it out for something new/neglected tomorrow.
Finishing with CL always seems to work well. Have a great day all!

Possibly. Despite careful research I have been unable to establish the original source of the quotation as definitively as I would like. However all indications point to it being either Confucius or Yoda.

    Great pic and write-up, Clint.
I don't know if you ever had any of the older C&E hard soaps, but they were fantastic. They were reformulated about 3-4 years ago into an unlatherable mess. The Indian Sandalwood was a personal favourite. Those pucks, with an Body Shop synthetic brush and a Mach 3, were my entry into wetshaving for a few years until I grabbed a DE.
What a cool looking Schick, Perry! You are bang on about it's neat art deco appearance. Great review of the differences between the Strop Shoppe and Stirling Baker St. scents as well.
Another one bites the dust, Jim. Do you have more Arko creams to use this month, or are you going to just rub the bathroom sanitizer on your face instead?

Wonderful B&W Photo Perry. The Schick Repeating Razors are some of the coolest razors ever made.

Descartes? Buddha? the Stylites? Wow, I think you've broken some new ground here, John. If we ever start a 30DC book club, you might be singlehandedly responsible for the choices of the month moving from Louis L'Amour's Sackett's Land to Kant's Critique of Pure Reason.
All jokes aside, a really nice post.
