My son gave me that same brush @Biglou I call it my super scratchy, ultra-floppy brush. I think our friend @mrchick has one as well.
Now do you understand my desire for a nice brush? I put in an order with @Jayaruh for a boar brush but I am still wanting that Shavemac. Waiting to hear back from them on a custom Americana Handle with a D01 3 Band knot. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
No, it’s still stuck in Sofia Letters. The English razors I’ve seen fetch a pretty penny An English rocket went for almost $50 the other day!
I really like mine; a regular in my rotation. I spent ~20 on mine ... I'll keep my eyes open. Sound so wrong ... and painful.
That's a real beauty ... I'd be sick if I paid that much though (I'm CHEAP). It's reminiscent of the Rubbersets and Simms out of Canada.
A new one will run you even more. I don't gamble, womanize, buy clothes; I drive a paid-for 2003 truck. I cut my own hair, (what's left of it); don't go out to eat very often. This is how I choose to spend my money. I also sell my gear to finance new purchases. In other words, this is my hobby and I love it.
Wow, sound like your painting a picture of me except I grew up with a wonderful father that is very Dutch, Scottish and Irish. Which means, not only are we thrifty (to a fault). We like nice things, but say "that's too much to pay new ... I'll make it or buy second hand and fix it". It almost a disease. I hope you realize I wouldn't want to you to think I was looking down or picking on you. If I find I nice used one, I'd be all over it, but generally get more satisfaction working on my stuff. I'm a hands on type of guy.
