1. A new one will run you even more. I don't gamble, womanize, buy clothes; I drive a paid-for 2003 truck. I cut my own hair, (what's left of it); don't go out to eat very often. This is how I choose to spend my money. I also sell my gear to finance new purchases.
In other words, this is my hobby and I love it. :)
  2. Wow, sound like your painting a picture of me except I grew up with a wonderful father that is very Dutch, Scottish and Irish. Which means, not only are we thrifty (to a fault). We like nice things, but say "that's too much to pay new ... I'll make it or buy second hand and fix it". It almost a disease.

I hope you realize I wouldn't want to you to think I was looking down or picking on you. If I find I nice used one, I'd be all over it, but generally get more satisfaction working on my stuff. I'm a hands on type of guy.

  9. Wasn't sure about this one at first, but it does have potential, even with the inside gutted out. A 1 cent bid and $3.65 shipping, not bad..........

  10. I saw one of those a while back that had been speckled with red and white paint. I thought paint it with a nice royal blue and put on a Gillette decal in either yellow or gold would look real sharp.

  11. Paid more than I normally would for a Fatboy, but in the combo it was reasonable.

It comes with a cool mug and a sweet blue Made Rite brush.

Don't take much to please me. :happy093:BTW it's an E2 (1959 Second Quarter)

Crows and Ravens are my favorite birds ... lots of personality.
  12. I have that same brush @Linuxguile sent me a while back. Going to have to dig it out and restore that one soon.

  14. I'm not sure about mine. I was thinking about back to original because except for restoring some boars to original, I really haven't put badgers where they were . I just used mostly synthetics and a couple boars. Still thinking though.

  20. Waiting on a banged-up Aristocrat. It definitely has a bent safety bar which I hope I can straighten.
