shave with Williams Mug shave soap

I remember buying the Mentholated Williams at my local drugstore back in the eighties. Nowadays I just add a little Cremo Cooling cream to my modern Williams when I feel like enjoying some menthol in my lather.

They were only lightly Mentholated when new. The lather was awesome though.

Mine has an Eckerds tag on it, they've been out of business a long time.

Barbers used to put a few drops of AS or cologne on top the puck before they loaded the brush. Allows you to scent the soap however you want. For Menthol just partially load the brush, put a few drops of Osage Rub on the puck then finish loading.

 

I like to use Aqua Velva Ice Blue.

True but it is still being made. The formula is different in the modern version. The vintage is usually reguarded as better.

 

Oh OK....similar to my Rise, which isn't what Dick Butkus advertised about.

Because I love boos and hisses - plain old Dove works better, and is cheaper....
