Great write up. I’m surprised it held up to that much water.

    April 6 SOTD:

    Razor: Gem MMOC
    Blade: Gem Stainless
    Brush: PAA Atomic Rocket
    Lather: Stirling San Antonio
    Aftershave: Aqua Velva Musk
    Additional Care:
    Stirling Unscented PSB

@Bama Samurai always says that Injectors are the gateway to straights, but I think this razor may fit that description. If I do a full two pass shave with a straight, I usually don't need to shave the next day. The same thing happened a couple of days ago with this razor. Today, I did a one pass and ended with a CCS, just as clean as I get with a straight. I also have to focus more on skin stretching with this razor than with a typical safety razor. When used correctly, this razor is proving to provide some top notch shaves.

I finished up the tub of San Antonio, @Drygulch. I will spend a week or two rotating again before I pick my next soap to use up. I hope everyone has a great day!

I was able to sleep in a little later this morning but I was still awake early enough to get in a relaxing shave. For the road trip I decided to bring along the OneBlade Core razor and try it with a modified Gem blade. The Core with the proper blade is barely efficient enough to get the job done so this would prove a real challenge. My buddy, Wade got a OneBlade Genesis during their Christmas sale. In addition to the discount they sent along a Core razor 2 brushes creams and balms. He passed one of set to me. The brush is a great size for travel and did a wonderful job whipping up a lather. Three passes and some serious touch ups left me with my normal results. However the amount of effort and pressure required was excessive. I’ll bring along the feather blades. A splash of Folsom & Co Capri was a wonderful end to the shave. Maya and I have a busy day ahead of us. I hope everyone has a fantastic Friday.

    SOTD April 6, 2018

Prep: Cold water and Stirling mentholated pre-shave soap
    Blade: Schick
    Razor: Schick B1 injector
    Brush: Omega 10049 boar
    Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
Post: Witch hazel, Fine American Blend aftershave

Excellent and easy shave this morning. The Fat Friday software combination was a winner again, as usual. It's hard to beat Mitchell's Wool Fat in my book. The B1 injector continues to provide terrific shaves. The required angle needed, as well as the head design, reminds me a lot of the Bunny razor made by @twhite. So effective and easy to use. All around great results.

    Enjoy your Friday!

Great post, Jim! I agree with you about the MMOC. I had one and it provided really close shaves, but I had to be extra careful with angle and pressure or it could easily bite or provide me with some irritation. Close shaves, though.

And congrats on finishing up another soap - you're on a roll!

Happy Friday Perry. Another great have and photo. How much of a dent have your made in the Fat?

Thank you, Perry! In the past, the MMOC always gave me a little irritation. I have about three shaves in a row with no irritation, pretty much doing exactly what you said: focusing on angles and pressure. The skin stretching is a big help as well. I definitely won't claim victory yet, but this razor is starting to win me over.

PLAla Bit Shy of a Full Puck

Thanks, Clint! Doesn't seem like much of a dent so far. This puck has over 30 shaves on it but it seems to be hanging in there more than the first puck I had. That first puck ended up delivering about 65 shaves, but I predict this one will go beyond that.
