Another great 'budget' shave. I aspire to get my technique with the 1912 down using low cost, yet high quality, gear!
Just started using the witch hazel myself (just the cheap stuff for around £2 for 200ml/7oz), and I am finding that it gives a really nice post shave feel... Heck, I'm sure that my neck shows less irritation after too!

I won't be quitting on it... I can't believe just how close it felt after just one pass on my cheeks. My skin is looking and feeling much better this morning, so it's attempt number 2 this afternoon!

 

Saturday shave:

My main squeeze showed up in town to see me and the cherry blossoms. Unfortunately we got hit with a cold spell so a hot shave seemed in order. I broke out the tea kettle, scuttle and QCS. The edge was just refreshed on the pasted strops and smooth like silk and sharp as a laser. All the planets were in alignment resulting in an epic shave.

In addition to the cherry blossoms we attending for one of my staff today. She got married at the National Assembly (similar to US Senate) building in outdoor ceremony. Her groom work for one of the senators.

My shave was a little off stride this morning....left some fuzz on the right cheek area(AGAIN), and didn't put enough Clubman Special Reserve on(although I suppose for that aftershave, less is better). I'll save the cheek tomorrow.

 

In my opinion, Arko rinses cleanly, but you have to get it all. Left some behind your ear? You smell like a candle. Wore a t shirt for a night shave and went to bed wearing it? Your wife asks if you are camping.

I began wet shaving believing it would save money in the long run. Then I tripped on my AD and fell in the rabbit hole. I try to pretend I budget shave but let’s face it. I have a lot of crap.

I started using witch hazel from studying the routines of others. Good stuff. Fuzzy @wchnu uses witch hazel as a lubricant for clean up passes too.
