Very nice B&W, with some stunning gear!
Glad you’ve made it back home and that it was a productive trip, Clint. Too bad Maya is under the weather, but at least it didn’t affect the school visit.
A full case of Arko? You’ll need a reorder in about 2029. That’s not actually a joke, just math...:)
Nice photo, Jim. While I’ve seen the Penhaligon name on a few things (isn’t their English Fern a famous Fougere?), I have never heard of Bayolea. Is the soap a typical triple milled classic British soap?
Sounds like that Luxor is really dialed in, Patrick. Congrats!
A nice sounding shave, John. Heard about the accident last night. We are thinking of all folks attached to the Humboldt team, and of all of Saskatchewan really, today.
Charlie is back! And with an awesome pic and write-up as well.
Love those TOST brushes! Is that a DE I see? Either you don’t own a SE Adjustable (unlikely), or you want to be one of the cool kids (possible).

Thank you, Jason. The soap is a triple milled soap, so it should last a long time. The scent has some nice citrus but a woodsy base, which is right up my alley.

My Slim is my everyday driver. If it’s not your favorite, Fuzzy, what is? I’d like to try ‘em out.

    My most recent shave:

    CRSW Barbiere Sapone
    40's Super Speed
    Astra SP
    Maggard Plissoft

I've been covertly whittling down on a handful of soaps, and the CRSW looks like it may be the first to go. There's still quite a few shaves left in it, but the hole in the middle is growing more and more quickly. The Super Speed was super mild compared to the more aggressive razors I have been using. Two passes yielded a passable shave for a busy Saturday. This is a good razor, but I think this shave moved it into the "possible departures" category, as I appreciate the more aggressive razors now and don't reach for this one very often.

To be honest, Clint, I do not believe your life has been terribly blighted by the lack of PGS Black Willow Bark Toner in it. I think it would be fairly good for someone with a tendency to oily skin and possibly acne -- willow bark extract is a natural source of acetylsalicylic acid aka aspirin and cider vinegar is an astringent. Someone looking for a more "natural" skin clearing treatment than the normal medicinal anti-acne cleansers might find it useful. It will never win awards for its scent profile however - it smells like moldy tree bark in vinegar. And for regular postshave use, I expect witch hazel or the more usual aftershave splashes and balms are better.

No worries there. Covering a back gate. Almost no traffic..good radio..hot Frnch Market coffee with chicory...and ac/heater. Life is good in the fuzzy hood...
Lol. I do have an adjustable Schick M. It will show up soon. I play with two sided stuff now and then too. That TOST brush sits beside my 30DC brush. They make a very nice pair.

I guess my favorite DE is the single ring or most any OLD. My favorite real razors include my 1902 Kampfe/Star and a 1904 ER (both lather catchers) and I have favorite 1912 from a G3 set.

    Cheap luxury is my thing...lol

Thanks. I just got what I think is a Schick G-3 in. Wait till it is shined up then we should have a pic!! Speaking of pics I missed the Friday pic until a bit ago. Growing like a weed he is.

    Arko Adjustable April!!

    April 7

    Razor - 1962 (H1) Gillette Slim (Me)
    Blade - ladas-super-stainless.jpg (3)
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - BoS Omega 10066
    Post - Alum

Switching razor and blade to the Slim and Ladas. Fine Russian blade in another fine American adjustable razor. Arko stick and the Omega 10066 boar brush. I guess I'm spoiled to synthetics or my lush Wolf Whiskers Silvertip because I didn't make the usual amount of lather. Plenty for two passes and touch up but I couldn't have done a third pass. The smaller boar brush befuddled me, it seems.

Two passes, touch up, near-BBS, over all smooth and fine shave with quiet alum. No complaints, worries, or concerns. That's the way it should be every night. My "Monday" is at an end and it was a busy and productive one. Just the way I like it. And no unexpected bills today! Things are settling down nicely.

Tonight is a big night in the Yakuza/Cartel hockey arena. Blues are playing the Avalanche. If the Blues just get to overtime they will go to the playoffs. If the Avs beat them in regulation - then Colorado goes to the playoffs. Judging from the current score and period - congratulations to the Avalanche for sending the Blues home. Until we get a team that can play solid hockey more than every third game we're going to remain cupless around here.

Not sure what happened to your Blues this year, Neal. Talented and deep. They looked great the first part of the year and then cratered.

Well number one we need a goalie who can be consistent. Number two we need more toughness against better teams. Those are my takes. Thought this might be the year at the beginning. Most of us saw that as the mirage it was by January. Still fun. Next year baby!

    Hello all!

This afternoon's shave was great! The Timeless Bronze paired with a Feather blade is a smooth, comfortable, close shave. Two pass DFS. A tickle from the alum on my neck.
Went with Stirling Barbershop with this shave. Excellent performance! Really enjoyed the scent of the soap and splash.

Good night and good shaves all! [IMG]

John, I heard about this on the news earlier today and I immediately thought of our Canadian brethren on The Den. What a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those affected by this painful event.
