Well, as we are 1/3 of the way through the month, Nosey had increased his/her lead.

Just thought I would mention that I have started a PIF in the Freebies section for these three brushes if any of you are looking for a synthetic:

Nice smooth shave . Wtg and atg . Nothing fancy today.
Purchased a bottle of Clubman Pinauld tonight...Insert comments below . Good or bad .I will have Fuzzy sort through them. I stepped into a time machine when I cracked that bottle open . And since I shave my head I miss going to barbershops for a dose of that stink! Good evening gentlemen!

    On to the next challenge

Next up to finished is a puck of AoS tallow, I think it is already more than 1/2 finished. I often mix with AoS cream which is about 2/3 done. I have a couple of other soaps near the end that will also be in the mix.

AoS tallow does make a very wet and very slick lather, the post shave feel is excellent too. A nice shave and ready to start hump day.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A Smoothness A Sharpness A

    Razor: Vorpal (pimped Silver Dollar)
    Strop: T Miller
Brush: Handle by Jason with Shavemac silver tip
    Pre: Nivea
    Soap: AoS tallow
    AS: Razorock AS, Sterling ASB

    Tuesday Budget Shave
    SOTD 4.10.2018
    Pre-shave: hot shower
Brush: VDH Boar (part of a VDH shave kit)
Soap: VDH Deluxe ($1.99 at Shopko)
Razor: "Pacific" TTO ($1.00 at Dollar Tree)
Blade: "Pacific" DE blade (2) (came with the razor)
Post-shave: Assured WH ($1.00 at Dollar Tree), AFTA Skin Conditioner Original (about $2.25 at Walmart), Barbasol Brisk AS (I think it was about $1.75 at Dollar General)

Inspired by @SharptoothC who has been using his $1 Pacific razor the last couple of days, and @Str8on2 who has been using his "Dollar Tree" $1 razor (I believe packaged under the banner of "Assured" which is the store brand), I decided I needed to try this razor again. I used the "Pacific" once before last October on 3 days worth of stubble and I was not impressed at that time: http://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/dollar-tree-1-safety-razor.57499/page-2. My Pacific razor was still loaded with the same Pacific blade I had tried initially so I just left it. Since I was going with the budget razor, I selected other budget products to go with it.

As to the razor: I was impressed this time! I think part of it is my technique has improved a lot since last summer when I joined TSD. It was an easy 2 pass shave. No blood. No irritation. Of course, I had only 24 hours growth this time, but the razor provided me with a remarkably CFS.

It goes with saying really, the VDH Deluxe soap and brush work great! The post shave products are terrific, and when you consider the price, they're fantastic!

    Happy shaves everyone!

Jason, that's a very nice travel set you have!

    Thanks, Jim!

John, I really like my coffee, no doubt about that... but I've never considered, let alone heard of, a soap with coffee grounds in it. That is quite unique. I need to think about that one.... :think002:

    Otherwise, cool set-up!

Experimentation is what this is all about. What works for one person, doesn't always work for you. Nice set-up!

Jim, I don't know what SAS means. I'm assuming you're not referring to the British special forces unit. ;)

You always have such cool pictures. I'm glad the razor has a good home. It sure looks better now that it's not collecting dust on the shelf! :happy088:

Sorry about the back pain. Been there, done that so understood. Another terrific photo and set-up.

If you're not yet, soon you will be the TSD GEM guru. Well-done!

    Nice set-up and photo, Perry!

Visually, everything looked find this morning, but if you felt it, there was some definite roughness, even when going with the grain.

Sounds like you're taming the 1912, James. Well-done.

Getting carried away with "touch-ups" is usually my undoing. I have to fight that urge often.

You drove me to use my Pacific razor today, Chris. I'll use it again tomorrow. Thanks!

Love the 1912 razor. I'd like to see a photo of the case for it sometime, if you have one. Well-done!

Beautiful straight, Keith. Maybe one day I'll be skilled enough (and brave enough) to use one. But I'm not in a hurry.

    Thanks, Jim!

Thanks, John! It is fun to read the reports and see the pics.

Thanks for the information! I learned a new thing now.

    Arko Adjustable April!!

    April 10

Razor - Schick Injector "M" Adjustable
    Blade - schickinjector.jpg (1)
    Pre-Shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - Jayaruh #46
    Post - Alum

Switching to my 4th adjustable razor, the Schick M Injector. The numbers aren't on the dial on this one but it has a mark to help adjust. I took it to just past halfway for tonight's shave, threw in a new Schick blade and stayed with the pre-shave soap and Arko with the JR46. The lather just magically appeared with this brush and the shave was on. I have to say, it was one of the smoothest shaves I can remember in awhile. Two passes and a near-BBS is in hand. Or should I say "on face". The alum is quiet and I'm encouraged to open this baby up tomorrow to setting "Me" and remind myself what it can do. My first razor was one of these so it's always good times and throwbacks to the good old days.
