I can think of some, but none that are appropriate.

Very impressive shave reports and photos, gentlemen! I particularly liked the "smooth as a catfish belly" comparison @PanChango made for his shave. My question though would be: Was it as slimy as a catfish belly too? ;)

I have come to adore Florida Water, especially on warmer days. It seems there are different scents of it, however. Yours looks a wee bit different than mine.

So I’ve tried out two razor blades so far, Gillette Platinum and Gillette Silver Blue. So far all I have to compare to is the Merkur blade.

Gillette Platinum was actually pretty decent. In my opinion it was sharper than the Merkur but didn’t seem to be as smooth.

Gillette Silver Blue was horrible. I didn’t notice much difference on the first pass but boy did it start eating me alive.

More to come later this week. Hoping with better results when I get past the Gillette samples.

    Shave 16 of 30

So tonight was like two steps forward, one step back. Single pass down the right. Two passes down the left, because I'm not a lefty and using my weak hand is just weird (need to practice). Couple of passes on the neck, and was able to do a bang up job on the chin. A tiny weeper and a nick due to the shavette. I wanted to really like this shave, especially because of how well I did on the chin, but when I was rinsing my face and drying off, it wasn't that good. So I used the Schick E3 to do a clean up around the jaw and some spots on the neck with that lovely witch hazel. On the downhill...

What's up gang just got over a sinus infection so this is the first shave of the week. Late posting too it was from this morning went with a little Barrister and Mann Lime Lavender and Cedar before it's to summery for the scent.[IMG]

Juxtaposed June where we trade avatars could be pretty fun. I'll switch back to my watercolor daguerréotype for that !

I don't recall which razor you're using, but I'd ask two questions.

    Riding the Cap?

    Light touch / Pressure?

Coming off of cartridge razors requires actually learning to hold the angle of attack as opposed to those flippy floppy autoleveling contraptions. The second point - carts have bumpers and glide strips that require mashing the head to your face. A DE razor from mild to aggressive has more blade exposure and only needs a light touch.

(Apologies if I'm wrong assuming your technique / transition time at just off the Cart & New to DE)

The GSB is a blade you'll want to hang onto and try again once you have more experience. Get your technique 100% then try that blade again.

    APRIL Focus On!

    Stirling Glastonbury soap sample
    B-400 Tuxedo synth brush
    Suribachi and cool water
The Bunny - Not So comb
    Schick Chick blade
Alum block, Bound & Shagged AS
SOTD 04112018.gif Back to my Focus of Adjustables and Stirling soap samples. Sorry Arko. I know where you are, but I'm only into the first 3 of 6 samples. Patchouli & Lavender Stirling Lather; Check. Synthetic knot so soft I only feel the cool lather; Check. Three passes & Bunny slides for an error free beard reduction; Check. Alum swiped quietly, and the AS concoction featuring scent oils from KleanSpa by Tom @twhite completed my appreciative Trifecta of Burbank products. The Bunny gives such a close shave I may skip tomorrow. ;)
    Good Shaves Y'all!

    Arko Adjustable April!!

    April 11

Razor - Schick Injector "M" Adjustable
    Blade - [IMG] (2)
    Pre-Shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Soap - Arko
Brush - Stirling Two Banded Synthetic
    Post - Alum

Second day with the Schick and another extremely smooth and effective shave. I opened it up all the way and let 'er rip. It was so smooth I wasn't sure it was even working for a bit but boy did it ever. Two passes, some minor touch up with a fantastic lather with Arko and the Stirling brush and the baby is in the house and the alum was silent. Impressive result. I wondered how it would compare to the "half open" setting last night and I can say I prefer setting "Me" on this razor. I'm ready to do it again tomorrow night!
