Sweet! Not much into tacticals myself. I work in a school and a traditional pocket knife doesn't seem to draw the attention a tactical would.
My second most carried knife, Small Sebenza with Insingo blade. Absolutely love this knife! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Same here really, these ones mostly don’t get used. My EDC is a Fallkniven U4 that lives on my key ring. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I've been carrying the SODBUSTER No lock, sort of a blunt point, but it's sharp, and fits nicely in my pocket.
Classical looking, nice. I prefer traditional looking knives myself. Most of the time I carry a French peasant's or fisherman's knife. When travelling with checked luggage I always have an Opinel in my suitcase. With cabin baggage only (most weeks) I sadly go knifeless. -- Pitralon forever - Real pens have a nib - If it doesn't tick, it's not a watch.
The stainless feels like it loses its keenness a bit faster than the carbon. But I like the perceived cleanliness. The carbon browns in my pocket, while the stainless stays shiny. The case knifes seem to stay sharper longer for me. I also enjoy Boker, Parker, old schrade, some buck, some Gerber (older).
Today it's this one again for me; an Au Sabot "Le Thiers" knife. Which surprisingly is a relatively modern design, inspired by the wish of the Thiers manufacturers and artisans to have a signature knife. There are many variations but they all have the same design basics. https://ausabot.com/
I like how you say “old Schrade”. I bought one a few months ago, a stockman or a trapper, I don’t even remember. I knew it was gonna be a beater at best, based on the cheap price, but it was maybe the biggest lump I have ever bought.
Three blades = stockman. Two blades on the same end = trapper. The can be slight variations to each, but that will tell you what you have.
Thanks. I understand the difference, I meant that I did not remember what the knife was without going to get it and look.
kershaw splinter in red, never used, bought new in 06ish? and comanche cutlery.my old faithful in brass. not really a collector of knives but want to keep the splinter unused.still have the box somewhere.
My new Case 6375, large stockman, in amber bone. Picked this up yesterday at Cabela's in Hamburg, PA.
Nice! I'm still carrying my Le Thiers. Next week I am traveling again, so I will go knifeless then (also because rules in the countries I often travel to are more strict than here).
I'm curious about this knife I received recently. I've seen knives like this before but I'm not sure the purpose considering how long and narrow the blade is. This one the case is approximately 6" long and the blade is maybe 5" x 1/2". It's not very sharp so I wondered if its supposed to be a folding letter opener and I just think its a knife. It seems a bit long to go in your pocket and the narrow blade (for it's length) doesn't seem terribly practical. Maybe someone could enlighten me.
It's a bit long for a letter opener, I'd say. As a standard drop point folding knife, I'd almost call it a fruit cutter, as it's so narrow along the entire length. No idea, really. Definitely interesting, and a lot more useful than the 8" folding 'buck' style knife I have
