Maybe for mounting in a display rack?

Good call. That would be my guess although I'm far from an expert with these things. I have seen wire display racks where Gillette cases were vertically stacked.

I have 3 of the “ 40s style” superspeeds and I really enjoy them. The angle variation is less than later flair tips but they are so smooth.

Im typically more a fan of aggressive razors but Ive been getting great shaves from my Weishi. For me, the difference is that I can go ATG with it without getting tons of weepers.

    Certainly Sir.

And would Sir like to purchase some blades with his order?

    Nice!

What year is the Flare Tip? Late 50's?

    It’s
Its a Brazilian Mono Tech with no date code. @Enrico put me on to it. It just arrived and it is so nice. It has a shave feel like a Flair Tip SS, but is smooth like a 40’s style SS.

I know when Flare Tips were made. I just didn't recognize the horizontal knurling of the tip of MR41's. If it's Brazilian then I know why I didn't recognize it!

    Nice chart though.

Sorry, misunderstood your inquiry. Yes the Brazilian Gillettes throw a wretch in the dating. By the handle crimping it should be post 1957.

    No problem.

I know they had factories in Boston, Montreal, Paris, Leicester (UK) and Berlin but I didn't know that they also manufactured in Brazil.

How many other Gillette factories that produced vintage razors don't I know about?

Are they as bad as people want to make out? I figured they're not made as heavy as earlier Gillettes, but should still be pretty good.
