I'll give something like this a go! My growth on my jawline grows from chin to ear... It is tough to go ATG to get the smooth finish there without it feeling like the hairs are being ripped out!

This Reviewer seems to agree while looking at both razors side by side.
    Same production line, different packaging.

All themes are mere suggestions, and represent the general mood of the thread. And FWIW, mild razors kill newbies. Please start anything you like!

Thanks. I was trying to get some people to buy in and play along with me. I thought it might surreptitiously go along with MAYham because the milder razors are more of a challenge. What does FWIW stand for:) I'm not hip enough to know:)

The hills undulated up and down all the way to the horizon, painted with wildflowers of every possible color and hue, giving the impression that God had spattered them with his favorite paintbrushes before washing them at the end of some cosmic art project, yet despite the unmitigated beauty of the scene, Linda couldn’t help but realize that this would be the last vista she would ever view, as she knew the pollen these flowers produced or the sting from the bees that feasted on it would lead to an allergic reaction ending in her certain and instantaneous death.

Sorry, couldn’t resist just one more.

Yes you did. Long story short, it’s my second submission for the worst opening sentence of a fictional novel.

In shaving news, I pulled out the straight again this morning. Pass 1 was money. Smooth as silk. Pass 2 and 3 - not so much. No blood loss, but lots of irritation. In other news, I think someone replaced my alum block with a solid block of acid.

Well I'm a little late to the program but after some prompting from a fellow member I'm going to give it a go. I will be using the following:
    Razor - Merkur Progress
    Blade - Astra Superior Platinum
Shave soap - Fendrihan Sandalwood and Lavender
    Let's see how this goes!

    Cheers

Welcome to TSD @montieg :). Fendrihan is one of the companies I've discovered as a member here that looks great from description, but too pricey for me right now.

I am new to wetshaving and purchased as part of a kit. I only have one shave under my belt and got a moderate amount of razor burn on one side. I think by doing this I will develop my form better and get rid of the burn.

Another such company, although it isn't on your list(yet, anyway!!), is William Neumann Co.(which I've playfully called "Bill" Neumann). I had a few samples from their company, and really liked them.

The 3 big fundamentals for me were light touch (no pressure), ride the cap, stretch the skin.

Thanks. I think after getting razor burn on my first shave, there are a few things I need to be sure of for next time. I need to double check what setting my razor was at (when I tightened it I am not sure it lined up so it may have been set too aggressive); my soap may have needed to be thicker; less and even less pressure.
    So that's my goal.

    Cheers

Welcome. It's never too late. Your 30 days start with your first shave, not by the calendar.

We do not advise shaving under the belt. :happy102:
