Was at Big Lots last night (the dollar fifty DE razors are gone) and picked up a jar of Cafe Bustelo instant. As far as instants go, this stuff is really pretty good. I still prefer Kava brand but Cafe B is better than Maxwell, Folgers and 8 o'Clock instants.
Freshly ground and French pressed Blue Bottle Coffee "Giant Steps." One of the few coffees that's a permanent fixture in my collection* and one of the few coffees of which I always have an immediate second cup because of taste. (I almost always have a second cup, but not usually right away.) My coffee is always black but I sometimes add some coconut oil. *Whole bean coffee acquisition disorder (WBCAD) anyone?
Italian roast ground in a Zassenhaus mill, water heated in a vintage SONA 4-cup kettle, and a vintage Melitta 101 ceramic cone and natural brown filter. A spoonful of sugar & a dash of French vanilla in my trusty 10-ounce cobalt mug.
Espresso, Lavazza Red, stove top Espresso maker. It's a small pot that makes about 3 espresso cups. It took the whole lot to kick start me this morning for some reason. But afterwards..............................................................................
If it is a quick cup its made with a philips senseo, with cups from a local burner. If i have time, i get freshly burned beans, ( sometimes i even burn them myself) i grind the beans by hand depending on what i want, and i make a near esspresso with a bialletti moka pot or a slow coffee with an old style filter.
Everything Cafe Bustelo is good. I sometimes do instant and as you say it's the best. Get the cafe bustelo..you will thank us. I drink a lotta that. Tonight it is French Market medium dark roast with chicory. Watch it though...this stuff bites. Very nice and smooth though. True New Orleans flavor. (So is Community)
