That sounds far too difficult to be fun. I love my aggressive razors. Much easier shaves.

I can also vouch for this. Aggressive is a bit of a misnomer. What some people call aggressive can also be thought of as effective. It is simply a wider blade gap. I find that a wider blade gap gives me more control and added feel, and an "aggressive" razor used with good technique takes less work. Less work equals less time the razor is in contact with my face. Reduced contact can reduce irritation.

hello fello shavers, sunday night again.slight mod from the proposed setup. went with a new tech hybrid instead of the flat bottom.the fluted handle i use is from the canadian military set and is the heaviest gillette handle i have.the razor weighs in at 63.5 grams and has nice balance. the new i used today is lighter with the fat handle and head heavy.felt like a new rfb but without the rake effect.
i used a new nacet today,i really like them.still feel similar to gsb and astr sp.just a bit sharper.wcs synth brush ,derby/wilkinson blue shave stick mix, usual proraso white pre shave (i use this 90% of the time) ,thayers witch hazel and speick active aftershave splash my friend got from germany.full 3 pass shave ,no drama.
    have a great day,gary 20180415_183350.jpg

There's a group on another forum having a go at the Pacific/Assurance $1 razors. It's been fun pointing out that mine has been in service from quite a few months and is still giving great shaves. I think I've talked a few into giving the Sayuri shavettes a go if they wanted a real shaving challenge. I haven't the heart to tell them about twig razors and finger shavettes.

I'm late to respond I'm sure but Wilkinsons are German or Indian. The Germans are one fine blade. The India made ones - meh.

    Arko Adjustable April!!

    April 15

Razor - Qshave (Futur Clone) (6)
    Blade - [IMG] (32)
    Pre-Shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Soap - Arko
    Brush - Jayaruh #54
    Post - Alum

Well, it was bound to happen. The Qshave on a wide open 6 had to bite at least once in three shaves. Can't blame the razor or the blade, though. It was all operator error. Working on the second pass on my left jaw thinking about who knows what, totally complacent and self-assured in my skills and I opened up the gap and felt the bite. Took a bit to see blood but it was obvious once it started. Now, as to the rest of the shave? BBS baby. Just that one stupid technique error. Just a reminder to pay attention when playing with the big boy toys.

The JR54 and Arko, of course, were a no problem winner. That will do it for the Qshave this time around. Tomorrow I have a razor lined up (yes it's adjustable) that I'm pretty sure nobody has shaved with this month.

My MAYhem will include a variety of soap options. That's a nice way of saying it. I owe everyone that from last year. I have a few other things up my sleeve too, soap related, to throw into the mix. As far as bad blades/razors/stunts/etc..........we'll see. We have two weeks to prepare. Are you feeling the MAYhem yet?
