There! That's the kind of concrete, incisive data I was hoping for! ;)
At this stage of my Shave Game I do not expect any earth shattering improvements. Incremental tweaks that add to the experience are welcome.

    Arko Adjustable April!!

    April 17

    Razor - Gillette Techmatic (1,Me)
    Blade - [IMG] (3)
    Pre-Shave - Stirling Mentholated Pre-Shave Soap
    Soap - Arko
Brush - Omega Pro 48 Boar
    Post - Alum

Another round with the Techmatic. I picked up my big Pro 48 brush. Haven't used this brush in many months. I had forgotten just how big it is. You can nearly lather your entire face just by centering it. This was my first decent brush and it's a soft yet very effective boar. Loaded the Arko out of the mug with no effort involved and I had enough lather left over to shave for two more days I think.

Two passes and touch ups and again a very nice DFS. Seems like once you get the angle figured out with the Techmatic it's very smooth and effective. Haven't managed a BBS yet with it but given its physics that may be asking too much. Not like I chase them down anyway.

No blood, no worries, quiet alum. Not bad for a razor that is at least 40 years old.

I have noticed that the Mr. Nosey comment seems to have resonated. And only one person has volunteered to sent in survey questions. Be prepared for more noseyness.

Yep, you're definitely Cartel material. "nicked my nostril, lopped the top of my mole off, slit my throat in three places and passed out from the bleeding......but OTHER THAN THAT it was a DFS on the first use". Only people around here can think like that and it makes perfect sense. Well done.

That's pretty impressive! Did you shave on all 27 of those days? :)

Hello Gentleman, haven't posted in awhile. Home and work life have been pretty hectic. I got my new Christopher Bradley from Krave Shaving last night. The matte brass finish is gorgeous, and the razor feels relatively heavy in the hand. I bought the B and C plates for a little over a hundred dollars shipped. [IMG][IMG]

For the first shave I loaded the razor and C plate with a brand new Vokshod. I then proceeded to face lather with Tabac and go to town. All I can says is with a Vokshod it was one smooth operator. It mowed through 2 and half days growth like nothing, the razor was incredibly efficient, and smooth. Gave me an incredibly close comfortable shave. The alum barely gave a whimper, very little redness or irritation on the bottom of my neck. The only problem with the shave, was I got a little to aggressive touching up my chin, and got bit. Overall, a great first shave with a great new razor.

Yes. The blade wasn't dead either, I just go bored. It was beginning to die though. Another notable was 17 with Derby blades.

I'm a firm believer in riding the cap. My claim to fame is just 5 uses on a blade. It wasn't as comfortable as it could have been so I pitched it.

Reading it back it does sound pretty bad haha!

In all honesty I was expecting it to be SUPER aggressive, but it was extremely efficient. Both of the bleeders were direct results of my own carelessness - certainly not down to the functionality/ease of use of the Ming Shi 2000s. I will definitely be doing a focus with it during MAYhem. For now it's back to the 1912 - going to get the handful of blades that I have got used up!

I just rub it in, then build my lather in the bowl, then lather my face. I do find it helps soften my beard.

    Wednesday shave:

Big meeting today so I picked on of my sure thing razors, a Dovo Master's. It is 6/8 full hollow that always seems to have a great edge. Took a break from the soap wars and went with an excellent tallow soap, Crowne & Crane. The lather was excellent as was the edge of the Dovo and the result, epic.

    Irritation A+ Closeness A+ Smoothness A+ Sharpness A+

    Razor: Dovo Master’s
    Strop: T. Miller
    Brush: Omega boar
    Pre: Proraso
    Soap: Crowne & Crane Tallow
AS: Enhanced Alt Insbruck AS, Edwin Jagger ASB
    Scent: Chanel Egoïst

    Bordering on CT worthy, even.

Thanks, Keith! Seems to be a near consensus on rub it in, lather over it, get to reducing beard. Haven't shaved since Sunday evening and didn't have the feeling tonight. Tomorrow will do. I'm hoping for smoooth...

I still have a bunch from when you sent me the shavette. They really do last longer than I expected and give a great shave as well.

Something to be said about riding the cap. I had an astral sp that I lost count on how many shaves I got from it . I tend to go through more blades when shaving my head with the DE.

Gorgeous razor. I especially like the way the engraved knurling looks.

Fortunately, I'm on NB'18 and by the time I am buying things again I may have overcome the temptation to rush out and buy a Karve razor ... to add to the 20 other razors already in my regular rotation...
