You can Paul. It's a teachable thing. Do you have a cell phone? Does it have a camera? If you can take a photo, the next thing is jumping through the hoops to get the pictures up here on TSD. I enjoy sharing knowledge and improving peoples lives.
Give a man a photo and he can look at it.
Teach a man to post photos on the web, and everyone can enjoy!

You're welcome Clint! I was a little skeptical, but the product does seem to add to my shave. I'll continue to use it with warm weather headed this way. I'm not a hard core menthol addict like some. Unless enjoying Osage Rub qualifies.

Has anyone clued her into the Peaches 30 DC Fan Club and Discussion Group? Not sure if she'd be impressed, or file a restraining order.

 

How could she file a restraining order? Our Fan Club is headquartered on the Flip Side. Anyone attempting to serve a restraining order on us will infallibly fall Over the Edge...

I wonder if we get somehow get her to come talk to us at the meet-up. I'd totally buy a plane ticket to bow in the presence of such greatness.

 

Two thoughts here: Proraso makes good stuff. I'm not a huge menthol fan so I might try one of their other versions -- when NB'18 is over.

But if the main active helping ingredient is glycerin, would you get a similar result by rubbing some pure glycerin on your face before the shaving soap or cream? I think I have a bottle of glycerin in my cupboard...

Also, just occurring to me, if I have never tried a preshave product before and have none in my inventory, would buying some violate NB'18? Jason @jtspartan, any thoughts on that?

Third night with the Techmatic and another fine result. If you can find one of these still in the package I'd recommend trying it, even if it's just for old times sake. This is the fourth use of the same blade and it isn't showing any signs of dulling yet. If you get at least 5 shaves per section of the blade than that would be 25 shaves on a 5 "blade" cartridge. I'm not recommending it as a permanent thing, obviously since it's out of production, but it has been fun to run it three days in a row.

I was also a bit surprised to call it a BBS tonight. Might be just barely but it's good enough to qualify. A little practice and it performs extremely well. In thinking of how it compares to a Gillette Adjustable on gap, I'd put the wide open setting on this one at about a 6 or 7 on the Fatboy. At least that's how it feels.

My weekend begins now! Got plenty of things to get done around here and will try to chill out a bit as well. My pancreas is being difficult today. It needs to get over that and let me enjoy my time off. Time to medicate. Have a great night and a better tomorrow!

Yeesh. Not sure actually, John. On one hand you are adding a product that you don’t currently use and would not just be hoarding more product. On the other hand, it can’t be considered ‘necessary’ as you get good shaves without it. Perhaps ask @NCoxSTL , as our ‘bet’ was with him...

I think I detect a bit of "fudging" being suggested. By definition, a No Buy is not buying anything other than a necessary replacement. However, the argument that buying a "brand new" product to try isn't really a "buy" could be seen as having some validity. Based on Russian traditions, a little cheating has to be allowed, I'd say. Buying one of something new during the year would not, in the Czar's generous kingdom, violate the NB. But....if you buy another one like it.....you're out. How's that for some moral relativity?

Hmm, good point about the "necessity". Of course, the only reason I am starting to wonder about preshave products is because Jim @Jayaruh and Rick @RyX have added their praise of the Proraso Green stuff to Neal @NCoxSTL's own regular burbling about how nice the Stirling preshave soap is...

For the moment, I may just try experimenting with a bit of a preshave glycerin rub -- For Science...
