@DaltonGang Nice picture, but ... you said french razor but the picture shows an american marking.
Is this the right one, with the retail knives shop on the "wrong side"?

While we love pictures, don’t let the lack of a picture stop you from posting. Sounds like you are off to a good start.

    Love those French rattlers.

Here's one of mine, a "Gauthier' from Pont-St-Esprit, a village about 30 miles north of Avignon. I bought it with bad scales for 10€ at a brocante and eventually had Alfredo Gil rescale it in Turkish burl. Shaves like a dream.

Pont-St-Esprit has another claim to fame though, in 1951, there was a mass 'poisoning' attributed to ergot in the grain used to make bread. Many folks in the villiage hallucinated badly as the ergot produces LSD, and there were even a couple of deaths from folks responding to the hallucinations. Later on, an English tabloid suggested that this event was a CIA mind control experiment!

    Cheers, Steve

IMG_1013.jpg King Pelican 27 that I re-finished last night. Super smooth shave! The brush is a Tulip 2-band and cream ABC. The AS is La Toja Manantiales Hombre, a classic smelling splash - barbershop from the 1960s.

    Cheers, Steve

Today's shave was with a St.Louis/Germany made razor. I had a smooth 2 pass shave, with minor touch-ups, that left me BDBS. No issues. For a smallish razor, this one is a very fine shaver, light nimble, and sharp.

    Razor- Norvell-Shapleigh, "SNAP No35".
Brush- B400 By Tom( @twhite ). Whipped Dog Boar knot. 4 hairs lost.
    Soap- Arko/Avon Spicy
    Aftershave- Florida Water

I really enjoy Sterling Executive Man, which is another homage of Creed Aventus. I use the Sterling soap and the RazoRock splash.

Filarmonica back in the house. I was curious about the Flarmonica reputation so I picked up a Fili 13, nice razor but I hated the scales, cheap plastic and lite which just frustrated me to no end. I sent the razor out to Kevin, @HolyRollah who put a fantastic set of scales on this razor. The pics do not do it justice. Kevin posted his work in another thread with much better pics. Also, the edge was very smooooth.

I agree, such a fantastic blade and how the scales are no where near the same quality.
