Nice 2 pass shave this morning. Went with the long-handled Black Beauty for ‘Adjustable April’ and the Maximo Gomez & Jeeves for Tobacco Tuesday. Put the SA at 7 and had a little bit of touch up for a 2 pass DFS. One little cut under my mouth -which was completely operator error- that died with the splash. Love this soap and splash, good stuff.
    Have a great day all!

Good morning gentlemen! Great shave reports, photos and progress today!

My new Timeless razor is beautiful! I really didn't get much of a chance to look it over yesterday before going to work, it's flawless. The handle is very grippy, actually surprisingly so. It feels like it's holding on to me rather than the other way around.

I removed the blade from the bronze and gave it a good cleaning. It's going to be awhile before it gets back into the rotation.

The blade went into the .95 to continue on. Lathered up with Stirling Sharp Dressed Man and proceeded with a cautious confidence. Honestly I really didn't notice any extra aggression or blade feel. It just felt like shaving. The only noticeable difference was how effortlessly it mowed through two days growth.

Three passes later with no touch up produced a wonderful BBS shave. A whisper from the alum on my neck. Just a great first shave!

I hope you all have a good day! I'm off to bed. [IMG]

While I agree with your assessment, I still think soap without foo foo should be used for survivalist purposes only and stored along with a take-down .22, a water purifier and some MRE’s. In that case, I’d go with Arko or more likely Palmolive shave sticks. (You don’t want the dogs tracking you down because you smell of urinal cakes.)

Oh-oh....another commentary about "Cat P". (Course, to be fair, you didn't mention cats). :)

To be clear here, I don’t think Arko smells like urine. If it did, there would be no concern about the dogs tracking you down in the woods. I think it smells like the lemony cleaner smell they use to make sure the bathroom DOESN’T smell like urine; thus the problem with being tracked down.

Excellent photo, Jim! Are you working on any particular soap or just rotating through ?
Georgeous photo, Clint! That brush is a monster!
Safe travels Perry, I hope your allergy symptoms start to subside!
Self punishment in the name of science. I have seen the Dr. Bronners in the store, glad I passed on it.
Congrats on making an improvement, Montie. Pressure and angle will be the two biggest factors in determining the comfort level of your shaves.

    Fantastic setup Dalton!
That brush is absolutley stunning, Mark!
Excellent shot, Jason! The 49 Walnut is quite the looker!

Looks like a wonderful combo for the day. I absolutely love that brush with the brass ferrule matched to the walnut handle. The big Omega boar knot is just the perfect size and colour to set them off...

Congratulations on a great-looking razor. And if you can describe your first shave with it as "It just felt like shaving" -- while getting a no-irritation effortless BBS ... then I would say you picked the perfect plate size for yourself too.

Well done! And many happy shaves in the future!

Riiight... I will just sit here holding my breath while I wait for it to arrive. Uhm, while I am waiting, to stoke my anticipation, can you give me a small hint? Is it perhaps a Darwin wedge safety razor? Or a Bottom Dial Fatboy or a Toggle? Or is it something more along the lines of a Lapis Lazuli handled brush knotted with Unicorn hair?

I mailed a package to Japan that was swapped shave gear + a pound or more of that unicorn scat. Skittles aren't available in Osaka so I think Jack @Sparrow daughter was a rock star if she shared them with her friends.

If I was an instigator Barbasol Bloomer would be on my list of CT's to endorse.

    Thank you Andrew!
